Glass Studio, Harvests, Glass Storage Rack, Freeze Dryer Batch 62 Started, 2 Torches, Grilling - Saturday
<b>Thankfully forecasts change and the expected frost is now gone for this week. I was not looking forward to that early of a frost.

First thing after letting the birds out I went to North 40 for wire, gas fittings, and stoppers and as soon as I was home I got all the pieces unwrapped and ready for install.

First I went out to the garden to check the squash which I let go for the day and instead I found an arm load of carrots that were ready. Once I hacked the tops off I had 4 pounds of the largest carrots I have ever grown.

Then the work commenced on the studio. My first task was to run the wire from the breaker box, under the house, through the basement, and then connect it at the top of the basement stairs. This was fishing the wire under the house from the basement.

One leg of the dual 50amp has my studio running full power now.

I got the proper fittings and was able to fashion myself a wood bracket that attaches under the glass table and both the oxy and gas line feeds through the wood then the T is install on the front side which runs to each torch. This is setup for the oxy cons and natural gas.

The valve is my main gas valve in the studio that shuts it off but still allows the line to be pressurized to feed the generator if it is needed.

I found the inner roll from one of the row covers which is 3 inch diameter cardboard tube. I also grabbed 2 inch white pvc and 1 1/2 and 2 inch black pvc and cut lengths to 18 inches long.

I lined all the pieces up in my old hood and laid the piece of plywood over to mark the extent of the wood for attaching the tubes.

I had to drill holes wide enough on one side to allow my bits to screw the screws in.

It took me a bit to figure out the best place to mount the rack but after installing a block on my table leg to raise the rack off the floor it fit perfectly.

I then unloaded some of the 5 foot long glass and cut them in half, a much easier working length and much easier to store. I have larger tubing that needs to be broken down still but won't have enough room for all of it. I'll have to devise a storage means for the full length extras.

@stryeyz got the freeze dryer loaded up and we have the next batch running now. 1 tray of Minnesota Midget.

Cucumber spears which will be quit interesting to see how well they process.

I noticed a bright bit of yellow in the peppers row and found to my surprise a completely yellow pepper. So often I end up picking them before they can ever get to the perfect color of this one.

Lightning then struck my skull and I had the epiphany. Hook up the tanked oxy and propane to the Ts and I can run both torches now. First I had to rotate the base of the Bobcat around which once I did it fit perfectly under the granite which holds it tightly in place. The gas lines now have much more room and the torch head moves a lot better.

One of the first thing s I had done in the day but forgot pics was to change this what used to have 2 drawers into shelves. I drilled holes in the sides then slid a shelf in from something else and fixed it in place. It sits perfectly atop the cabinet an gives me easier access to some tools so I am not opening the doors below.

My new torch finally got fired up. Holy balls the flame is rather incredible compared to my Redmax. The GTT torches really have amazing flame characteristics. I am going to give it a run today for the first time and now that the kiln can run I have little excuses.

Got the small fire going to grill our dinner. The boys worked on splitting wood again while @stryeyz worked in her business planner.

I wanted grilled peppers on my burger so I grabbed a really nice Anaheim (left) and Gold sweet Italian (right) and split and seeded them.

The burgers grilled first and I threw a couple rounds of washers and on my first set got a cup.

The peppers and buns went on together though the buns were done well before the peppers. The peppers got filled with beer while they roasted, just to see what would happen.

Watched Star Trek Lower Decks while we ate then after getting the birds to bed went to soak.

Today I have to pick more since I didn't yesterday, I will be trying out my new torch for the first time, I almost have the inner yard cleaned up, the grapes need to be picked of the ripe bunches before the hornets get them all, and I will grill again tonight.
