Bit of a random day yesterday. Not exactly what I wanted to do first thing but some how an order got put in for a pound of beans. I only have my stuff available for delivery on Friday with exceptions for larger orders. So I had to drive the 50 miles round trip to drop off a pound of beans. On the way home my truck turned 127777 miles. Nice 7s. The squash did a little better than the prior days with a 40. It is interesting to me how easy it is to miss some of them while picking. I happened to find a pair of them that got way too big. Still sore in the back and foot I tried to take it a bit easier. I was having trouble jumping up and down from the shed so I built a quick set of stairs so I am not hurting myself landing on my foot. It is just a temp until I get the real stairs built. It didn't take too long to get the Tyvek laid down and stapled to the roofing. Holy crap is the stuff slick. I started on the bottom row and worked my way towards the front of the shed which meant I also worked myself to the highest point from the ground and cornered myself. Luckily I built the framing such that I was able to climb down off the edge and reach the ladder leaned against the wall. The peach leather was dried well enough so I removed them from the trays and stacked them for bagging. We now have a couple pounds of fruit leather. Managed an hour picking in the pole beans. This bucket load gave me just shy of 10 pounds. On top are a handful of the green noodle beans. They are just starting to produce in limited quantities. The plants are more of a warm weather one than the bush beans or other pole beans. Takes them longer to grow this far north. With no rain in a while I needed to rain on the beans. I started with the pole beans and after about 20 mins I switched to the bush beans. The bush bean rain gave off a nice rainbow. It helps to water in the afternoons when I can get the sun light shining through the water right to catch them. The evening was spent canning. The hot water bath ran for a few hours while we got 9 quarts of elderberry juice done. Then we heated up the gallons of plum that I had processed some days ago. It had sat in the cooler since but was nice and stable and still good. It took 18 quarts to finish off the plums. I did not strain the plums so there is still skins and pulp in it but they will be shelf stable for a while. I am plowing through the audio books. These are the latest I have heard. Last night I finally managed to get myself onto the audiobookbay site where there are 10s of thousands of audio books that can be downloaded. I spent a bit of time yesterday queuing a load of them for download. With how fast I have been going through them I had to re-up my directory with more. New Scientist - How Numbers Work Discover the strange and beautiful world of mathematics - (More mathy books.) Randall Munroe - How To (Pretty silly ideas for how to accomplish a bunch of tasks) Rob Moore - Start Now - Get Perfect Later (Some interesting and useful ideas for work) Rufus Lodge - F--k - An Irreverent History of the F-Word (A different take on "The F Word" dictionary by Jesse Sheidlower) Richard E. Nisbett - Mindware Tools for Smart Thinking (Some helpful tips and a lot of things I already am doing) David Allen - Getting things done (The classic that is referenced by many self-help organizational books) I am on Blink by Malcolm Gladwell now. Today I have to get the metal roofing on the shed, pick more beans, come up with rims for the trailer, harvest beets and more beans.
https://i.imgur.com/jZHRpZ9.png

**For more information about our farm: [Fleming Family Farm](https://flemingfamily.farm) FLEMING FAMILY FARM, LLC Sustainable & Organic Methods | Heirloom Produce** ###### *All images are original works of Fleming Family Farm unless otherwise notated and credited.* ### *If you find this post useful or entertaining, your support is greatly appreciated by upvoting, following, and sharing!*
http://i.imgur.com/scQMN2U.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/XIX45Gk.png
https://i.imgur.com/j2mxlUq.png ___

___ [](http://bitbay.market/) t
