<b>I woke up yesterday morning to a down pour of rain. The tent echoed the drops and woke me at first light. I slept fitfully for a while until near 6:00am when I finally got up and started to deal with packing up the tent. I tossed all the wet stuff into the trunk and the dog and I went driving around the forest.  The fog and clouds were of a typical Pacific Northwest type and I was keenly aware of it. We drove to near the top of the mountain but got stopped by still downed trees. After a bit of a wander in the still misting weather we headed back down.    I drove up a side road on the way down the gorge to the highway as I had been eyeing this spot on the map for a while. It is a rock outcropping next to the road and from the top of it I could see our other climbing areas up the canyon. Super cool and exactly what the maps seemed to show. On the rock overlooking the canyon is a memorial for a person. Pretty nice place for one I have to say.   I got home by 10am and took a while to get everything unpacked, eat, and relax as I was tired from my shitty sleeps. Squirrel is getting to be pretty damned cool. He has taken to burrowing into any small confined area like pockets, hoods, cupped hands in a lap, or an arm pit. He is eating well and drinking water and is seeming pretty healthy from all appearances. The boys named him Squirrel-zilla but I am likely to call him Z.   I came home to a ton of baby mantis that needed to be set free so they got let out in the garden amongst the gooseberry bushes. There are hopefully still thousands of them in the yard. After today there are a boat load more and still 4 or 5 cases to hatch out.  My mantis army shall grow big, it shall become mighty, it shall slay all "bad bugs" on the farm, and they shall reign supreme among insects! They will protect this farm from the weee "murder" wasps! There is always some douche who thinks they know better. One of the joys of this world 🙄 This little dude is pretty damned cool. I've not liked squirrels for most of my life but this one has changed that opinion a good bit.
