Yes! A game on the Steem blockchain. It is called Steemmonsters, concocted by your friendly PAL advocate @aggroed with @yabapmatt also developing. Apparently the game came about after watching his kids fight with each other.
I don't know what the fight was about but in his head, he imagined his kids throwing down with bunch of cards to duke it out. That's some imagination you have there @aggroed.
But I'm glad you weren't thinking straight that day because, now we have https://steemmonsters.com/. This is brilliant.
The idea is to attract users and keep them here. Which is what Steem needs, more activity, engaged users and longevity.
# The game
The game consist of trading and battling with other users. The trade aspect is simple enough, buy or sell from others. The game is still a little murky to me but I think I got the flow of things.
It's kind of like a card trading game, well it is that but digital. You get set of cards and you use them to battle each other. Think of <a href="https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21694426/">Hearthstone</a>. Where you get a set of deck and battle other players.
Your cards/monsters will gain more EXP and level up by playing the game, obviously. Cards are able to gain new abilities and you are able to equip them with items. The most exciting part is the rewards that you'll get by participating. Albeit, watching my monsters grow more powerful is equally exciting.
Action will take place in a tournament where Steemians are pit against each other's summoners and monsters. Well not very action packed as the battle will be simulated. Hopefully in the future it can be like this.

Winning will get you rewards such as SBD, upvotes, Steem, SMT, not really sure how that works. Lets just wait and find out before I say stupid things. Or is that too late.
# How to join
It's actually the second day of the pre-sale. I was informed about it whilst in the MSP Waves discord chat.
Before you can join though, it is important to buy your first deck. This will set you about $5 US. You will be given common cards and rare ones too. On the website, it states, it's not compulsory to buy but how are you going to play the game without a deck of cards? It will probably cost significantly higher too in the future. Get it while it's hot.
I bought the starter pack and bought 4 more booster cards costing $2 US each. The first purchase consisted of some common, rare and *drumroll*, da da da dun, a Legendary card. Not going to tell you what it is, it's my secret weapon, he he he.
# Final product
I can't say, I could not find anything in the website nor @steemmonsters. I have heard September but it could be earlier. Probably depends on the devs. But here is a sneak preview of what's to come.
