Let's do a Giveaway based on Performance
I think it's about time you all familiarize yourself with liquidity pools and what that means for the stability of respective tokens.

To start it creates some volume scarcity which as a consequence, increases some pressure on the value. But the most important part is not actually the price (especially at the beginning), but instead the volume.

People investing in liquidity pools will not really benefit much from short-duration participation. Price will be very volatile and if you don't know your game, my recommendation is to don't touch it (the investment I mean).

# Example
This is one that I will use for this Giveaway too, so let's get on to it. Using https://beeswap.dcity.io/ and filtering for STARBITS (main currency from #risingstar game), you can see two pools, one paring STARBITS with PIZZA and another pairing STARBITS with SWAP.HIVE.

So, in the above example if you would like to buy STARBITS, you could easily swap either your PIZZA or your SWAP.HIVE for it. Although there is a catch here... if you are in a rush of swapping a lot of volume, and if the pool can't yet absorb that amount, you will pay some discrepancy in terms of "price impact".

## Use Case 1 - I don't care!
Let's imagine I want to swap around 10 HIVE [(SWAP.HIVE) to STARBITS](https://beeswap.dcity.io/swap?input=SWAP.HIVE&output=STARBITS). Because there is not enough liquidity yet on the pool, the price impact will increase and, in this swap I would lose between 2% and 2.5%.

Still very cheap, but just as an example to compare against the next use case.

## Use Case 2 - I am super patient...
In this case, you can either use the normal market and put a very low buy order, waiting for it to be consumed, or you can also use the liquidity pool, but instead of swapping the total value in one go, do it in smaller values waiting some time in between them. This will create less impact on the liquidity pool and will also give time for adjustments, providing you (potentially) with a cheaper end result.

In this case, the impact is almost 4x less, and if the market does not go weird, I might be able to swap a much better deal, doing it around 10 times (to reach the same 10 HIVE on the previous case).

**Note:** Once there is enough liquidity in the pool, this becomes irrelevant and you can just swap larger values with minimal impact. There is also nothing preventing you from being impatient LOL ๐Ÿคฃ

# The Giveaway
Right, now that you know a bit more you can go there and give it a few tries to practice (use small values if you just want to get a feeling). Play with it and let me know any questions below.

To incentivize the players of RisingStar I have decided to give away a Legendary card, upon some performance of the [STARBITS:SWAP.HIVE](https://beeswap.dcity.io/swap?input=SWAP.HIVE&output=STARBITS) pool, to ANY active players that play the game and own at least 100 cards when the draw happens.

## Draw?
This will be the part where everyone will start asking questions. But, I decided to go with the experiment. And the draw of this card will only be done, once the total fees earned on the STARBITS:SWAP.HIVE pool go above $300 in value on three consecutive days.

## Eligibility
Once the amount is reached, I will randomly choose a user that is showing on any of the "Player Rankings" pages of the [RisingStar](https://www.risingstargame.com?referrer=forykw) game, with at least 100 RisingStar Cards.

Incidentally, one of the first Liquidity Pools I participated in when I first discovered HIVE was the PIZZA:Starbits pool ๐Ÿ˜„. 

It felt like a perfect match back then as I was active in !PIZZA and had just picked up the RS game too.

It was always a super amazing pool, I agree. Still is... lots of rewards there. PIZZA is gaining momentum on several fronts, so holding to it, is a huge facilitator for making decisions on other pools. But that, I would defer for another more in-depth post =)

I tried reading. I don't get it. I'm not going to bother trying. My brain is full of other stuff like how to regulate the human nervous system and the genetic coding info that's in our birth chart and how to use it to help people be healthier.

You just recalled me. There is no such game yet on the HIVE ecosystem that would make people learn about those things. I would say, that is an opportunity for whom would like to explore this arena. There is a lot of posts and people around already that would love to dive on such things.

Its good to reflect on things... even if they are not under your daily "area of interest". And jumping outside of your comfort zone, a VERY (for me the best one) good way to learn.

It's always nice to see people incentivize the pool but it's too bad that the pool is filled with a bunch of tokens now. I kind of miss the days when it was just starbits and PIZZA being paid out for the PIZZA/starbits pool.

I would hold to that thought... the market can change quite quickly and people just see the short path sometimes... "if I want STARBITS, then if I have HIVE I need HIVE-STARBITS pool"... but sometimes (I tried to kind of hint that a bit on the post) it's cheaper to just use a different pool and do two jumps.

I also had a lot of liquidity on the STARBITS:PIZZA pool, but I withdrew everything when the rewards decreased...no reason to keep the assets there if I can put them in other pools with better ROI

This one needs no input or participation requirements per si (except the minimum cards and playing rising start to avoid some exploitation). It will giveaway when the target is met on the pool.

So basically what I am saying is, the more volume people move through that pool, the faster the target will reach and hence I will then do draw the card. =)

It's going much slower than I anticipated, but I have a few more incentives under the hood.

This is also to incentivize people to explore defi on Hive-Engine. Which is an almost worry free market in my view at the moment. At least for the big things.

I used to hold more then 1% of PIZZA:STARBITS pool at one time, Now I exited it. if RS provide incentive in pool then it will be great . To get benefit of price movement , I like to keep token with me.

Fees earned from the pool might not be worth then holding your own token.

When you have to buy large just put a strong bid order, it generally get filled but yes , wait time may go upto 24 hours.

1% might not be enough to see any significant rewards and do averages if not for a long time (+60 days).

Currently, the one I am giving here as an example, just on fees is around 30% APR lately, but that's because the volume has increased so much. Its all about volume on pools. Price and rewards are just an artificial way of starting the pool. Its still nice yes... but the focus of one that wants the long term and holds the token should be holding larger quantities of tokens on pools that have large amounts of volume. It will then payoff when the time is right (assuming volume keeps high).
