Snow talk

I have to admit that I don't love snow. OK, it is nice once a year to have a little snow to play with and take a few pictures of, but I don't think I could survive to a place that is covered by it, for months. No wonder I live at the southernmost part Greece, which  is practically just above Africa. Actually there are a few African cities like Algiers and Tunis that are norther than Crete, the island I live! 

But I am completely off the subject which is the snow and my visit to Elatochori, a mountainous village in northern Greece and a ski resort near by. As you can understand from the pictures I didn't went very far from my car but the evening light was beautiful and I just love the way the setting sun is shining the snow!

The village itself is quite different than what I am used to see. Usually Greek villages have very narrow streets and the houses are built very close one with another. Here they are scattered all over the place, leaving big pieces of land in between. The result gives you the feeling that you are not exactly in a village but more like in autonomous houses in the middle of the mountain!

in years i realized i don't even mind the snow. not even the cold (wind sucks) but everything that goes before the snow and after the snow. All the mud, shitty weather, doom and gloom.
If there was a way for nice weather and then a month or so of snow and again nice weather i would be happy with that :D

I had a discussion a couple days ago about how distant American homes are from one another, unless in a city. A British friend came over years ago, and couldn't get over how long it took to get from one place to another.

I love the photos taken on the snowy pavement, and the lights on the poles totally transform the area.
