## ☀️ Scape In The Rain

Sara is walking in torrential rain that has completely drenched her. Although she is covering herself with her jacket, which is waterproof, the heavy rain has not stopped since she was forced to abandon her vehicle in the midst of a sudden flood just as she was passing over a small bridge over a stream. In the rush to escape the storm and in the pouring rain, drivers became reckless and, as she was crossing the bridge, the driver behind her failed to stop his vehicle, hitting her in the back.

When the man who had hit her car was arguing with her through the half-open window, Sara noticed that he suddenly stopped talking, looked up over the roof of his car, and immediately started to run. She was shocked, she turned her gaze to where the man had been looking and was instantly petrified. What was once a tiny, gentle stream had turned into a huge wall of water that was advancing unstoppably toward her. Panicked, she grabbed her purse and ran out of the car. As soon as she had barely set foot off the bridge, she felt the mass of water hit it and made the whole place shudder.

She barely had time to watch as her car, the car of the man who had hit her, and several other cars that were stuck in heavy traffic on the bridge, were swept away like toy cars by the flash flood. The screaming and running of the people turned the place into the scene of a disaster movie.

Sara had only escaped drowning in her car by a few seconds. She regretted losing it, but was glad she had comprehensive insurance. After hesitating near the spot where her car had been swept away by the current, she took the initiative to continue walking home. Even though it was not that close, it seemed pointless to keep waiting there for the authorities to arrive. Besides, he had already had enough situations today, and he just wanted to get home and put an end to this hectic day. So, he covered himself with his jacket and, in the rain, walked home.

Sara reeled through her mind as she walked, the series of occurrences she had experienced on this literally stormy day. Looking back, she thought about the events that had led her to find herself walking home in the rain. And the situation prior to this thread of events, took place at work a little less than two hours ago, when she left the office untimely.

Eliana, her best friend, and confidant, had offered to stay late to finish an important report. They had made this arrangement to prevent Rodrigo, who was their boss, from having the opportunity to make a pass at them, as was his unpleasant habit. Although he was a handsome man, his attempts to hit on the female employees were becoming more and more insistent. Of one thing Sara was sure, she was not going to put up with any unseemly gaffes from her boss, as it was rumored had happened with other female employees who preferred to keep silent for fear of being fired. Although she needed the job, if she could avoid any situation of this type, for her, it would be the best.

Working with her friend had turned out to be the best way to avoid exposure to Rodrigo at times when they needed to work after hours. They had done it before, as a safety precaution, since the stories they told each other with other employees had happened when the boss had asked them to stay to finish an important job. Eliana and Sara always took the initiative to work late together when they knew the boss would ask them to do so. In this way, they had avoided many bad situations. 

But on this day, when they had just 45 minutes of working off the clock, Eliana had an unexpected situation that needed to be dealt with as soon as possible. Sara did not mind staying alone and they agreed that she would change cubicles and they would not say anything to Rodrigo. This way, Rodrigo would think they were together and would not bother them. When Eliana was leaving the office silently and through a secondary door, Sara tried to change cubicles near this door, in order to have a chance to escape in case Rodrigo took the initiative to approach where she normally worked.

What a surprise when, looking for a cubicle near the secondary door, which was the farthest from Rodrigo's office, Sara noticed that Rodrigo was right at that door, locking it. As best she could, she hid and noticed that, after locking the door, Rodrigo looked out the window to make sure that Eliana was leaving, since from there he could see the place where she parked her car.

Sara did not hesitate for a second: she had to escape. Hiding under the cubicle, she waited for Rodrigo to leave, after making sure Eliana was gone. She took off her shoes and thinking that, surely, Rodrigo would go to where she was supposed to be working, she decided to follow him stealthily. A decision that raised her adrenaline levels to the maximum, but that would give her a small chance to get out of the office, as indeed it did.

Walking behind Rodrigo like in a suspense movie and with the possibility that he might discover her, she assumed that Rodrigo, not finding her at his workstation, might go to the bathroom to look for her. She thought about how basic men can be when Rodrigo, not finding her at her workstation, walked straight to the women's restroom. Although this also put her on the level of the man's unhealthy thoughts. But, it turned out to be her best weapon, because while Rodrigo went to the bathroom, she hurriedly, barefoot and in silence, left the office through the main door, which was still open.

With her heart about to burst and her stockings soaked, she arrived almost breathless at her vehicle. He got in and as if escaping from a serial killer, he started the car and frantically drove away. As he passed through the automatic parking lot door, he noticed Rodrigo's figure peering through the large windows of the office. At that moment he felt an immense relief, which was somewhat truncated by the heavy traffic just two blocks from his workplace and the pouring rain. She turned on the radio and said to herself, "I'll be safe in here: ***"I'll be safe in here. "***

# ☀️ Escape Bajo La Lluvia

Sara camina bajo una torrencial lluvia que la ha empapado por completo. Aunque se está cubriendo con su chaqueta que es impermeable, la fuerte lluvia no se ha detenido desde que se vio obligada a abandonar su vehículo, en medio de una repentina creciente, justo cuando pasaba por un pequeño puente sobre un riachuelo. En la prisa por escapar de la tormenta y bajo la pertinaz lluvia, los conductores se tornaron imprudentes y, cuando atravesaba el puente, el conductor que venía tras ella no logro frenar su vehículo, impactándola en la parte posterior.

Cuando el hombre que había chocado su automóvil discutía con ella a través de la ventanilla entre abierta, Sara se percató que, de pronto, este dejo de hablar, levanto la mirada por sobre el techo de su auto y de inmediato, hecho a correr. Muy sorprendida, dirigió su mirada hacia donde el hombre había mirado y acto seguido, quedo petrificada. Lo que antes era un pequeño y manso riachuelo, se había convertido en una enorme pared de agua que avanzaba indetenible hacia donde ella se encontraba. Espantada, tomo su bolso y salió a la carrera del auto. Cuando apenas colocaba un pie fuera del puente, sintió como la masa de agua lo golpeaba y hacía que todo el lugar se estremeciera.

Tuvo tiempo apenas de mirar como su auto, el del hombre que la había chocado y varios autos más que se encontraban atascados por el denso trafico en el puente, eran arrastrados como carros de juguete por la repentina crecida. Los gritos y carreras de la gente, convirtieron el lugar en la escena de una película de desastres.

Sara había logrado escapar por pocos segundos de morir ahogada dentro de su auto. Lamentaba haberlo perdido, pero se alegró de tener un seguro contra todo riesgo. Liego de estar indecisa cerca del lugar donde su auto había sido arrastrado por la corriente, tomo la iniciativa de seguir caminando hasta su casa. Aunque no estaba tan cerca, seguir esperando allí a que llegaran las autoridades, le pareció inútil. Además, ya había tenido suficientes situaciones el día de hoy, y tan solo deseaba llegar a casa y terminar con este día tan agitado. Así que, se cubrió con su chaqueta y bajo la lluvia, caminaba hasta su casa.

Sara hilvanaba en su mente mientras caminaba, la serie de ocurrencias que había vivido en este día, literalmente, tormentoso. Mirando las cosas en retrospectiva, pensaba en los sucesos que le habían llevado a encontrarse caminando bajo la lluvia rumbo a su hogar. Y la situación anterior a este hilo de sucesos, se dio en su trabajo hacía poco menos de dos horas, cuando salió de manera intempestiva de la oficina.

Eliana, su mejor amiga y confidente, le había propuesto quedarse trabajando hasta tarde para terminar un importante informe. Habían llegado a ese acuerdo para evitar que Rodrigo, quien era el jefe de ambas, tuviera la oportunidad de insinuárseles, como era su desagradable costumbre. Aunque era un hombre apuesto, sus intentos de tratar de ligar con las empleadas, se hacían cada vez más insistentes. De algo estaba segura Sara, no iba a soportar cualquier desatino indecoroso de su jefe, como ya se rumoraba, había ocurrido con otras empleadas que preferían guardar silencio por temor a ser despedidas. Aunque necesitaba el empleo, si podía evitar cualquier situación de este tipo, para ella, sería lo mejor.

Trabajar con su amiga había resultado la mejor manera de evitar exponerse con Rodrigo en momentos que se requería trabajar fuera del horario habitual. Ya lo habían hecho antes, como medida de seguridad, ya que las historias que se contaban con otras empleadas, se habían sucedido cuando el jefe les había solicitado, se quedaran a terminar un trabajo importante. Eliana y Sara siempre tenían la iniciativa de trabajar juntas hasta tarde, cuando sabían que el jefe se los iba a solicitar. De este modo, se habían evitado muchas malas situaciones. 

Pero en este día, cuando apenas tenían unos 45 minutos de estar trabajando fuera del horario, a Eliana se le presentó un imprevisto que debía ser atendido a la brevedad. Sara no tuvo inconveniente en quedarse sola y quedaron de acuerdo en que ella se cambiaría de cubículo y no le dirían nada a Rodrigo. Así, este pensaría que estaban juntas y no las molestaría. Cuando Eliana salía en silencio de la oficina y por una puerta secundaria, Sara buscaba de cambiarse de cubículo, cerca de esta puerta, a fin de tener una oportunidad de escapar en caso de que Rodrigo tomase la iniciativa de acercarse a donde ella normalmente trabajaba.

Cuál no sería la sorpresa cuando, buscando un cubículo cerca de la puerta secundaria, que era la más alejada a la oficina de Rodrigo, Sara se percató de que este se encontraba, justo en esa puerta, cerrándola con llave. Como pudo, se ocultó y noto que, después de echarle llave a la puerta, Rodrigo se asomaba por la ventana para asegurarse de que Eliana se retiraba, ya que desde allí podía divisar el lugar donde ella estacionaba su auto.

Sara no lo dudo por un segundo: debía escapar. Oculta bajo el cubículo, espero que Rodrigo se retirara de donde estaba, después de asegurarse que Eliana se había ido. Se quitó los zapatos y pensando en que, seguramente, Rodrigo iría hasta donde supuestamente ella estaría trabajando, decidió seguirlo sigilosamente. Una decisión que le elevo los niveles de adrenalina al máximo, pero que le brindaría una pequeña oportunidad de salir de la oficina, como efectivamente ocurrió.

Caminando a gachas tras Rodrigo como en una película de suspenso y con la posibilidad de que la descubriera, supuso que este, al no encontrarla en su puesto de trabajo, quizás la iría a buscar al baño. Pensó en lo básico que pueden ser los hombres, cuando Rodrigo, al no hallarla en su puesto, camino directo al baño de las mujeres. Aunque esto también la colocaba al nivel de los pensamientos malsanos del hombre. Pero, resulto ser su mejor arma, ya que mientras Rodrigo se dirigía al baño, ella a la carrera, descalza y en silencio, abandono la oficina por la puerta principal, que aún estaba abierta.

Con el corazón a punto de estallarle y las medias empapadas, llego casi sin aliento a su vehículo. Entro y como si estuviese escapando de un asesino en serie, encendió el auto y arranco frenéticamente para alejarse. Cuando pasaba por la puerta automática del estacionamiento, pudo notar la figura de Rodrigo asomado a través de los amplios ventanales de la oficina. En ese momento sintió un inmenso alivio, el cual se vio un poco truncado al encontrarse el fuerte tráfico a solo dos cuadras de su lugar de trabajo y la lluvia arreciando. Bajo los seguros del automóvil, encendió la radio y se dijo a si misma: ***"Aquí dentro estaré segura"***
