## ☀️ The Cow's Mess
On some highway in the Venezuelan plains, Ricardo drives his car without much concern, a little annoyed by how monotonously flat and straight the road has become. After about 45 minutes without picking up any signal on the car radio and in a warm silence, interrupted only by the hum of the wind and the purr of the engine, Martha, his wife, who accompanies him in the passenger seat, says to him:
— Look! A cow driving in the right channel! — as she laughingly points to the front of the road. Ricardo settles into his seat and after observing the ruminant animal, strolling along the canal where it is driving, smiles and comments:
— Well, it's no wonder it's like that in these parts.
Martha bursts laughing and immediately answers him: — Yes, sure, he goes to the cow supermarket! This means: We are close to the cow town! — without stopping laughing.
Ricardo laughs along with her and when he is very close to the animal, he puts on the low beam and, laughing, tells his wife that he is going to safely overtake the cow that is in his way.
— We have to do it respecting the traffic laws of vaccines, lest a police bull fines us! — laughing out loud. He slows down a little as he approaches the animal, looks in his rear-view mirror, and jumps into the left lane to overtake the cow walking parsimoniously in front of them.
Just as she is in the left lane and accelerating a little to pass the cow, the cow turns her head, perhaps surprised by the sound of the car, and immediately darts into the left lane. Martha shouts — Watch out! — and Ricardo abruptly turns the steering wheel to avoid impact with the cow. The car loses its grip and slips hopelessly into the ditch on the left side, which is a steep ditch covered with a thick layer of mud.

— God, what happened? — exclaims Martha, leaning to the left side in her seat, supported by her seat belt. Ricardo, rather disgruntled, struggles in his seat, glued to the side of the driver's door, which has become embedded in the bottom of the ditch bordering the road.
— Cow doomed!— he exclaims while pointing to his wife to try to get out of the side of his door, which, with some difficulty, they manage to open. Once out of the vehicle, they assess the situation. The car has skidded into the ditch on the left side of the road and has been left on its side, buried in a large puddle of mud. Ricardo looks at the desolate road and further down the road, in the direction they were driving, he looks at the cow standing calmly, watching them curiously.
— Look at the mess you've made! — he shouts angrily at the animal while pointing at it in the distance. His wife looks at him and can't contain her laughter: "Why are you laughing? - she asks, and Martha, still laughing, answers:
— It's so funny to watch you argue with a cow! — as she laughs uncontrollably. Her husband comes over and takes her in his arms.
— That cow must take responsibility and assume the damages! — he exclaims and immediately bursts out laughing, accompanying his wife with laughter. As they both laugh uncontrollably, they point to the cow, which still looks at them without any emotion.
After laughing for a long time and calling out to the cow to help them get the car out of its trapped position, or at least tell them where to get a tow truck, they are surprised when they notice the cow coming towards them.
— Is she upset or is she coming to help us? — says Martha, as they run to the back of the car when the cow is very close to them. The cow stops right in front of the car and Ricardo and Martha look at it from the back, through the windshields.
— Can you call a tow truck? — Martha shouts from where she stands, unable to contain her laughter. Her husband, leaning against the car's trunk, makes an effort but still bursts out laughing. The cow approaches the shoulder of the road and, standing in front of the vehicle looks at them with her big eyes, lowers her head, and begins to chew on the grass. Then, while chewing, it directs its innocent gaze toward the couple, who are laughing leaning against the car.
The whole thing is resolved when the farmer who owns the cow comes over and helps them get the car out of its trapped position. After chatting, laughing, and enjoying the unusual situation, the laughing couple continues on their way, grateful for the happy ending of the unexpected encounter with the cow and its kind owner.

# ☀️ El LÍo de La Vaca
En alguna carretera de los llanos venezolanos, Ricardo conduce su vehículo sin mucha preocupación, un poco fastidiado por lo monótonamente plana y recta que se ha convertido la vía. Tras unos 45 minutos sin captar ninguna señal en la radio del automóvil y de un cálido silencio, solo interrumpido por el zumbido del viento y el ronroneo del motor, Martha, su esposa, quien lo acompaña en el puesto del copiloto, le dice:
— ¡Mira! ¡Una vaca conduciendo en el canal derecho! — mientras señala risueña hacia el frente de la carretera. Ricardo se acomoda en su asiento y tras observar al rumiante animal, caminando sin prisa por el canal donde este conduce, sonríe y comenta:
— Pues, no es de extrañar que sea así por estos lugares.
Martha suelta la carcajada y enseguida le responde: — ¡Si, seguro, va al supermercado de las vacas! Lo que quiere decir que: ¡Estamos cerca del pueblo vacuno! — sin dejar de reír.
Ricardo le acompaña en la risa y ya muy cerca del animal, coloca la luz de cruce y riendo, le indica a su esposa que va a adelantar con seguridad a la vaca que se interpone en su canal.
— ¡Hay que hacerlo respetando las leyes de tránsito vacunas, no vaya a ser que un toro policía nos multe! — riendo a carcajadas. Reduce un poco la velocidad al acercarse al animal, mira por su espejo retrovisor y se lanza al carril izquierdo para adelantar a la vaca que camina parsimoniosa frente a ellos.
Justo cuando está en el carril izquierdo y acelerando un poco para pasar a la vaca, esta voltea su cabeza, quizás sorprendida por el sonido del automóvil y de inmediato, se lanza en veloz carrera hacia el carril izquierdo. Martha grita — ¡Cuidado! — y Ricardo maniobra bruscamente el volante para evitar el impacto con la vaca. El automóvil pierde la adherencia y se resbala sin remedio hacia la cuneta del lado izquierdo, la cual es una zanja bastante inclinada y cubierta por una gruesa capa de lodo.

— ¡Dios! ¿Qué ha pasado? — exclama Martha, inclinada hacia el costado izquierdo en su asiento, sostenida por el cinturón de seguridad. Ricardo, bastante contrariado, lucha en su asiento, pegado al costado de la puerta del conductor, la cual ha quedado incrustada en el fondo de la zanja que bordea la vía.
— ¡Condenada vaca!— exclama, mientras señala a su esposa para que trate de salir por el lado de su puerta, la cual, con algo de dificultad, logran abrir. Una vez fuera del vehículo, evalúan la situación. El automóvil ha derrapado hacia la zanja del lado izquierdo de la vía y ha quedado de costado, enterrado en un gran charco de lodo. Ricardo observa la desolada vía y más adelante, en dirección hacia donde conducían, mira a la vaca que se encuentra parada, de lo más tranquila, observándolos con curiosidad.
— ¡Mira el lío que has provocado! — le grita iracundo al animal, mientras lo señala a la distancia. Su esposa lo observa y no puede contener la risa.— ¿Por qué ríes? — le pregunta, y Martha, aun riendo, le contesta:
— ¡Es muy divertido verte discutir con una vaca! — mientras ríe sin control. Su esposo se acerca y la toma en sus brazos.
— ¡Debe responsabilizarse y asumir los daños! — exclama y de inmediato, suelta la carcajada acompañando a su esposa con las risas. Mientras ambos ríen desaforados, señalan a la vaca que aun los mira sin ninguna emoción.
Luego de reír por un buen rato y reclamar a la vaca para que los ayude a sacar el automóvil de donde se encuentra atrapado o, por lo menos, les indique donde conseguir una grúa-toro, se sorprenden cuando notan que la vaca se acerca hacia ellos.
— ¿Será que está molesta o viene a ayudarnos? — dice Martha, mientas corren hacia la parte posterior del vehículo cuando la vaca se encuentra muy cerca de ellos. La vaca se detiene justo al frente del automóvil y Ricardo y Martha la miran desde la parte trasera, a través de los parabrisas.
— ¿Puede llamar a una grúa? — le grita Martha desde donde se encuentra, sin poder contener la risa. Su esposo recostado del maletero, hace un esfuerzo, pero igual, se desborda en carcajadas. La vaca se acerca al hombrillo de la vía y estando al frente del vehículo, los mira con sus grandes ojos, baja la cabeza y comienza a morder la hierba del lugar. Luego, mientras mastica, dirige su inocente mirada hacia la pareja, que ríen apoyados del auto.
Todo el asunto se resuelve cuando el granjero propietario de la vaca, se acerca y les presta ayuda para sacar el vehículo de donde está atrapado. Luego de conversar, reír y divertirse de la inusual situación, la risueña pareja continua su camino, agradecidos por el feliz término del inesperado encuentro con la vaca y su amable dueño.
