There are situations that make us confront our own beliefs or values, circumstances that make us think that no matter how much we believe we have morals and good manners we would not mind throwing those values away if it is a matter of survival.
Why do I say this? Because today I bring to you a film that precisely confronts and one could even say makes the viewer uncomfortable to a certain extent. What would I do if I were in the same situation? Would I do it better or would I let my survival instinct win out? Argentina is known for its good cuts of meat, mate and Eva Perón, maybe I am forgetting Messi or Maradona, but in 2020 a movie was released in that country that, due to the pandemic, could not be enjoyed in theaters.
However the series saw the light through some local digital platforms and for my personal taste Netflix bought the rights to this story. I discovered it while I was looking for something to watch on one of those nights when I had nothing to do and it took me a month to finish it. Yes, you read that right, it took me a month to finish it, among other things I didn't have time and the truth is that I wasn't hooked at first glance, however, I went back to finish it because I don't like to leave open cycles and I didn't regret it.
Because there is a type of art that is elevated and does not need too much luminescence to transcend. Even more so if it deals with sensitive issues such as child pornography and everything that the new generations are exposed to when they are immersed in this new era 2.0 and the dangers it entails. Children playing at being adults, but the concept of childhood that we had is a bit worn out.
There is no longer a difference between stages such as puberty and childhood, there seems to be a rush to grow up and look older. Communication has also been lost because we are connected to the phone all day long, traditional games and everything that we millenials managed to live are gone. Marco Berger manages with this masterpiece to give us a vision of how he sees the world without questioning, no one is good or bad.
And I think it was the best thing, nobody likes to be lectured, but when you leave that to the choice of the audience it generates discomfort because you start to be part of the story. Do the right thing or take care of yourself? I think you have a lot to discover in this film that I'm reviewing today.

Existen situaciones que hacen que nos confrontemos con nuestras propias creencias o valores, circunstancias que hacen que por más que creamos tener moral y buenas costumbres no nos importaría echar a la basura esos valores si se trata de sobrevivir.
¿Por qué digo esto? Porque hoy traigo a ustedes una película que precisamente, confronta y se podría decir hasta que incómoda al espectador hasta cierto punto. ¿Qué haría yo si estuviera en la misma situación? ¿Lo haría mejor o por el contrario dejaría que el instinto de supervivencia me ganara? Argentina es conocida por sus buenos cortes de carne, por el mate y por Eva Perón, quizás me esté olvidando de Messi o de Maradona pero en 2020 en ese país se estrenó una película que por andar encerrados por la pandemia no se pudo disfrutar en los cines.
Sin embargo la serie vio la luz a través de algunas plataformas digitales locales y para mi gusto personal Netflix compro los derechos de esta historia. La descubrí mientras buscaba que ver en una de esas noches en las que no tenía nada que hacer y tarde un mes en terminarla. Si, has leído bien tarde un mes para terminarla entre otras cosas no tenía tiempo y la verdad no me había enganchado en el primer vistazo sin embargo, regrese a terminarla porque no me gusta dejar ciclos abiertos y no me arrepentí.
Porque hay un tipo de arte que es elevado y que no necesita demasiada luminiscencia para trascender. Más si trata temas que son delicados como la pornografía infantil y a todo lo que están expuestas las nuevas generaciones al estar inmersos en esta nueva era 2.0 y los peligros que conlleva. Niños jugando a ser adultos, pero el concepto de la infancia que teníamos está un poco desgastado.
Ya no se marca diferencia entre las etapas como la pubertad y la niñez, pareciera existir prisa por crecer y por verse mayores. También la comunicación se ha perdido por estar conectados al teléfono el día entero, se acabaron los juegos tradicionales y todo lo que los millenials logramos vivir. Marco Berger logra con esta pieza maestra darnos una visión de cómo ve el mundo sin entrar en cuestionamientos, nadie es bueno ni malo.
Y creo que fue lo mejor, a nadie le gusta ser aleccionado, pero cuando dejas eso a elección del público se genera incomodidad porque comienzas a ser parte de la historia. ¿Hacer lo correcto o cuidarse a sí mismo? Creo que tienes mucho por descubrir en esta película a la cual hoy le hago una reseña.

**Ezéquiel** (Juan Pablo Cestaro) is a 15 year old teenager, who for reasons that we do not understand is left alone at home for long periods while his parents travel around Europe with his only sister, so as expected at that age the young and inexperienced boy takes the opportunity to experience his first sexual experiences. It is not a difficult task, he has a big, beautiful house with a spectacular swimming pool that of course makes things much easier for him, so he begins to invite his classmates to play video games or just hang out, which allows him to try to flirt with some of them to see if they succumb or not to temptation, but apparently Ezequiel is the only gay in his school and none of his friends accept his proposals.
But out of nowhere, life starts to smile on him when he unexpectedly meets **Mono** (Lautaro Rodriguez), a beautiful, sexy and masculine skater who seems to be much older than him and who of course Ezequiel quickly takes to his house in search of sex.
The two get along very well, so the relationship seems to be going at a good pace, but things get out of control when Mono takes him out of his house and takes him to the house of an older cousin named **Chino** (Juan Barberini) who seems to live in a very shabby suburb but that matters little. Ezequiel relaxes and together with Mono begins to have sex in a house where silence is the only company he can have.
After that encounter, Mono disappears from his life, suddenly there are no messages, no calls and he can't even see him at the skate park. But everything starts to make sense when Ezequiel receives a WhatsApp from Chino with a video he filmed while Ezéquiel and Mono were having sex. The video of course goes straight to the deep web, however the victims have their faces covered, but the problem is not that, the worst thing is that Chino needs Ezéquiel to serve as a decoy like Mono did and bring younger guys to make more videos.
Although at first Ezequiel is uncomfortable with the turn of events, he seems to gain confidence when he meets a boy younger than him and begins to seduce him. **Juancito** (Patricio Rodriguez) a very hot teenager only 13 years old who already smokes and has piercings in his ears and nose. Meanwhile, Ezéquiel's parents return from their eternal trips, but neither of them is suspicious that their son has become friends with a boy two years younger than him, something unusual among teenagers. Pero de la nada, la vida comienza a sonreírle cuando inesperadamente conoce a **Mono** (Lautaro Rodríguez), un hermoso, sexi y masculino patinador que parece ser mucho mayor que él y que por supuesto Ezequiel lleva rápidamente a su casa en busca de sexo.
Ambos se llevan muy bien, por lo que la relación parece ir a un buen ritmo, pero las cosas se salen de control cuando Mono lo saca fuera de su casa y lo lleva a la casa de un primo mayor llamado **Chino** (Juan Barberini) que parece vivir en un suburbio muy cutre pero eso poco importa. Ezequiel se relaja y junto a Mono comienza a tener relaciones en una casa en la cual el silencio es la única compañía que se logra tener.
Es así como después de ese encuentro Mono desaparece de su vida, de repente ya no hay mensajes, ni llamadas y ni siquiera puede verlo en las instalaciones del parque de patinaje. Pero todo comienza a tener sentido cuando a Ezequiel recibe un WhatsApp de Chino con un vídeo que filmó mientras Ezéquiel y Mono tenían sexo. El vídeo por supuesto va directo a la deep web, sin embargo las víctimas tienen las caras tapadas, pero el problema no es ese, lo peor es que Chino necesita que Ezéquiel sirva de señuelo como Mono lo hacía y traiga a chicos más jóvenes para hacer más vídeos.
Aunque en un principio Ezequiel se siente incómodo por el giro de los acontecimientos, parece ganar confianza cuando conoce a un chico más joven que él y comienza a seducirlo. **Juancito** (Patricio Rodríguez) un adolescente muy caliente de tan solo 13 años que ya fuma y tiene piercings en las orejas y en la nariz. Mientras tanto los padres de Ezéquiel regresan de sus eternos viajes, pero a ninguno de los dos les genera sospecha que su hijo se haya hecho tan amigo de un chico dos años menor que él, algo poco habitual entre adolescentes. Es allí donde comienza el infierno de Ezequiel, quién tendrá que decidir si sigue o no con este oscuro juego en el que tendrá que elegir si quiere pasar de ser víctima a victimario.

I have a lot of praise for the director and also screenwriter who was inspired by a real life story to make an original story. I must say that being a film with little dialogue gives the viewer the possibility to think a lot and never be sure what is going to happen. That's how you never lose interest, you never get it right, it never happens what you would expect to happen, it's never predictable and that's great.
Juan Pablo Cestaro's performance is absolutely brilliant, considering he is 22 years old and he played a 15 year old perfectly. He was the personification of the average teenager, as well as Patricio Rodriguez actor of whom I must say I was very satisfied with his work.
The cast was wonderful, the shots, the focus, the scenery. Everything seemed to go well, even with so much silence the director manages to convey the message he wants through the image, the music and the gesticulation of the actors is simply incredible. I could also say that the film is consonant with the perception I have of a thriller, the cameras always adopted a suspicious approach and the scenes at night were designed to generate a lot of tension. I read that the director seems to abuse music a lot in his masterpieces, which has been a source of constant criticism in several of his films, in Young Hunter of course is no exception, but I didn't particularly mind it.

Tengo muchos elogios para el director y también guionista que se inspiró por cierto en una historia de la vida real para hacer una historia original. Debo decir que al ser una película con pocos diálogos da la posibilidad al espectador de pensar mucho y de nunca estar seguro de lo que va a ocurrir. Es así como nunca se pierde el interés, nunca atinas, nunca pasa lo que esperarías debería ocurrir, nunca es predecible y eso es grandioso.
La interpretación que hace Juan Pablo Cestaro es absolutamente brillante, teniendo en cuenta que tiene 22 años e interpretó a un chico de 15 años perfectamente. Fue la personificación del adolescente promedio, al igual que Patricio Rodríguez actor del cual debo decir me sentí muy satisfecho con su trabajo.
El elenco estuvo maravilloso, los planos, los enfoques, los escenarios. Todo parecía ir bien, incluso con tanto silencio el director logra transmitir el mensaje que quiere a través de la imagen, la música y la gesticulación de los actores sencillamente es increíble. También podría decir que la película es cónsona con la percepción que tengo de un thriller, las cámaras siempre adoptaban un enfoque sospechoso y las escenas en la noche estaban diseñadas para generar mucha tensión. Leí que el director parece abusar mucho de la música en sus piezas maestras, lo cual ha sido una fuente de constantes críticas en varias de sus películas, en El Cazador por supuesto no es una excepción, pero a mí particularmente no me molestó.
