As I said earlier these theoretically deform space and time, traveling at the speed of light, are capable of altering the distances between planets.
https://codigoespagueti.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ondas-gravitacionales.gif

https://image.prntscr.com/image/i0N58NYZRRKUGAwVyPh3oA.png
Events like supernovas are able to form these **gravitational waves**, which have energy equivalent to billions of atomic bombs, but these waves lose force making that many times can not be detected by the radars. Scientists use detection devices called **interferometers**, which help to catch waves that come with very little force. The **gravitational waves** help the description and explanation of several of the laws of physics, since with them it is possible to obtain some information of the origin of the universe. For many scientists and interested in the subject, **gravitational waves** propose some of the greatest challenges to human knowledge, providing ideas and theories on how the universe unfolds, raises, stars, galaxies, and also adding a Touch more of mystery and curiosity for those that we find out there. Source [1](https://s3.postimg.org/egs294u8j/figure2.jpg) [2](https://s29.postimg.org/9f24woynr/56951a29c46188070d8b45ac.jpg) [3]( https://codigoespagueti.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ondas-gravitacionales.gif) [4](https://image.prntscr.com/image/i0N58NYZRRKUGAwVyPh3oA.png)

I would like top add that in general, gravitational waves alter the distances, but only on tiny scales. Which is why it was so hard to discover them. Good post by the way :)
