I think that during the time I've been writing reviews about video games, I've done at least more than 10 reviews about video games of the beat 'em up genre, and it's because, as I've mentioned several times, this genre of games in the past was very present in the industry and was highly popular, that's why there were a lot of them, very few are remembered today as the best, some others were so bad in graphics and mechanics and some more despite being relatively good games, have always been overshadowed by others of greater renown. Today, once again, I bring a new review of a quite particular beat 'em up due to its mechanics and graphic style.

As expected from this type of video game, its argument is extremely simple and straightforward. In the case of Metamorphic Force it's a set of clichés all over the place. The story focuses on a demon that, to everyone's surprise (nope) wants to dominate the world, a plan never seen before in video games, however to avoid this a guardian/goddess of the world or something like that, through their powers invokes the power of 4 powerful warriors who are spread throughout the world, with the particularity that in addition to their physical abilities by nature, they can be transformed into anthropomorphic animals, which logically, makes them very strong (and furrys).




Besides having a quite cliché plot, this also happens with the characters, since the 4 main characters of this video game are walking stereotypes, however their transformations are very good.

Graphically, it is a quite remarkable video game, with a colorful type rarely seen in video games of this genre, since at first sight, if it were not for the genre to which this video game belongs, we could believe that it is a children's game, due to the use of pastel shades in all its color palette. However, despite this aspect is quite rare in a beat 'em up, Metamorphic Force manages to capture a quite remarkable artistic style, which thanks to that, makes each of its scenarios full of details and therefore you can feel a full of life environment.

In the same way the character design is quite unique, original and very detailed. With relatively large sprites, Metamorphic Force manages to capture the essence of each of the protagonists of this game. Also, their transformations are quite good. Very colorful visual effects that add even more charisma to this title, besides having excellent and fluid animations.

In general the beat 'em up always have very good soundtracks, with aggressive melodies, some with many guitar riffs and others with joining classical music with synthesizers, it has enough elements of epic music, in general that manages to encourage us towards action, and as we could expect Metamorphic Force is one of those games that fulfills quite well with having a soundtrack of this style, which is very much in line with its genre. Likewise, the sound effects are strong and necessary for a better playable experience.

Metamorphic Force as any other beat 'em up is quite simple, the beat 'em up games have changed very little with respect to their mechanics, even current beat 'em up maintains much of the main features of many games of older generations, as it is a genre of video games simple to learn, entertaining, very fun and dynamic, obviously, as long as it is a game with good and intuitive mechanics. In the case of Metamorphic Force it meets those requirements very well.

We must fight along several stages, defeating all our enemies using our fists or the skills that our characters have at their disposal, because as it is also common in this kind of games, each character has a different kind of fight, as I mentioned before, so we can choose a character that suits our demands and our way of playing.

The addition of this beat 'em up with respect to others, is that our characters can be transformed into anthropomorphic animals in a way that adds a much higher level of playability to other games. We will have the typical items that will recover our health bar, and in order to transform ourselves we must find the statue of the goddess, when we have contact with her, we will automatically transform ourselves into powerful beasts, but when we lose the health bar we will return to our human form, having to fight in that form until we find another statue again.
