Way to finish the week! - View from a typical public cabin in Norway

One cool thing about skiing in Norway is the high number of accessable public cabins.

If you start skiing just 10 minutes north of the Capital, you can pretty much keep on going forever. So then one might assume that one would have to bring a bag of food and water in order to ski the whole day. However, thanks to a network of publicly run cabins, you don't have to.

It quickly becomes the highlight of the trip when you can drop in and get a fresh waffle and a hot drink served for you to then enjoy in the sun.

Can't wait for the winter and easter holidays to plan a full skiing trip for 3-5 days with just a backpack of a sleeping bag and toothbrush knowing I'll be able to sleep over at the cabins I pass by on the way!

Awesome mate! I dream of seeing a place like this. Even more so trying skiing! Although I feel maybe that snowboarding would suit me better.

They're easily accessed from Oslo city center during winter. What makes it even cooler is that you also have a ski lift just around the same place from which you would go cross country skiing, so you can do either. Both within 10-15minutes from the city center, so no need to "travel" if you live here :).

Never tried skiing while drunk 😂. It could work if you take it slow, otherwise you would likely puke.
