THE WRITING PROCESS

### The writing process is a vital aspect of your English curriculum and a true test of your English ability. Practising writing skills helps you to express yourself in a simple, accurate and interesting manner. This enables the reader to create a picture in his/her mind. Writing is one of the most common ways we communicate. To be successful in writing, you should practice the five steps of the writing process:

### The Writing Process
**Content, format, sentence structure, vocabulary, language, punctuation** and **spelling** all play an integral part in the process. If required, **creativity,** and **originality** will enhance your writing.

### Develop Your Writing Skills
- The writing process offers you an opportunity to explore many avenues of communication.
- It allows you to discover hidden talents and it is a vehicle of expression that should suit your personality.
- It is a showcase for your powers of observations, your knowledge of varied topics and your awareness of current affairs.
- By practising varied forms of writing such as essays, reports, letter writing, diary writing and invitations, you will extend your written communication skills.
- Embrace each of these as an enjoyable experience and you will be amazed at your own competence and expertise.
