Last night I saw photos of my past with my wife. Paper old dusty photo. Among all these fragments of the past, two photos have been found about which more than anything I already know to me and no one will tell. There are no survivors who connect me to people in these photos, and when they were alive I was too young to ask. Photos 100 years.

This is a photo of my great-grandmother's family. On the photo, her parents and she and her older sisters. Great-grandmother extreme left in the second row, her 16 years old. Photo taken in 1918. Grandmother Khmara Stefanida Iosifovna, was born in 1902, died in 1987. I was then 10 years old. Then, for the first time in my life, I saw the death of a loved one. The most interesting thing about her great-grandmother - she did not know how to write, but she could read and taught me to read at 5 years old.

And on this photo my great-grandfather (in a scarf) with a friend and brother. The great-grandfather's name was Mikhail Khmara, born in 1894, died in 1981. I remember only his big hands, but I remember his hands for life, I was afraid of them. I know that the great-grandfather and his brother were orphans and worked with the farmer, when his great-grandfather turned 20 he gave him a plot of land in a farm not far from the village of Vertilishki, Grodno district (Republic of Belarus). I know that his great-grandfather was dispossessed, he did not take away the land, but he himself gave everything to the collective farm and with his wife joined the collective farm and worked there all his life.
Great-grandfather married my great-grandmother when he was 24, and she was 16 years old. Great-grandmother gave birth to 8 times, 4 children survived, who grew up to create their families. But alas, they have been dead for many years. And as a memory of their ancestors there were two photos and such memories.
