### Se podría decir que telegram es un servicio de mensajería instantánea, pero a la verdad es MUCHO mas que solamente eso, es similar a un servicio de correo, canales de noticias, y llamadas de una muy buena calidad.

### En muchos casos a telegram se lo coloca como competidor de Whatsapp, pero si vemos un poco mas a fondo, veremos que telegram es mucho mas robusto y poderoso. Nos permite enviar archivos de audio, video, documentos, programas, y mucho mas, ademas lo que lo hace mas deseable es que soporta archivos hasta de 1,5 GB.

### Lo admirable de telegram y lo que mas me sorprende es que no tiene limite de envío de archivos, y todo lo que se envía queda almacenado en la nube con la opción de descargarlo en el dispositivo que estamos utilizando. 

### *EJEMPLO DE USO:*

### un uso MUY importante es la posibilidad de utilizarlo de medio de intercambio entre dispositivos, por ejemplo pasar un archivo desde el móvil a la pc ya que no ofrece la posibilidad de tener la sesión abierta de manera simultánea en varios dispositivos a la vez, y si tu teléfono se apaga o se desconecta, no hay desconexión.

### puedes utilizarlo como tu propio sistema de almacenamiento en la nube, y en el momento que desees descargar algo o que alguien tenga acceso lo agregas a ese grupo para que pueda acceder, ya que cada miembro nuevo del grupo tiene la capacidad de ver todo el historial.

### Otra de las características llamativas es la de poder crear un supergrupo con hasta 100.000 miembros, es verdaderamente muy potente. Telegram tiene la capacidad de utilizar bots, y poder crear los mismos conforme a la necesidad del usuario.

### La experiencia con los bots hacen que esto no sea simplemente un servicio de mensajería, desde aquí se pueden utlizar bots que permiten descargar videos, música aplicaciones, que colecten datos de manera automática, o que muestre. Hasta pueden mantener una conversación.

### Hay bots para todos los gusto, por ejemplos Juegos, apuestas, información de cotizaciones, y mucho mas de lo que imagines.

Hello Joe,

much of what is written in this article here still applies to Telegram to my knowledge. Especially the leaking of metadata is apprehensive imho. 

In addition to the linked article one additional comment was made:

"Update 8/31/2019: After publication of this article Telegram’s creators implemented several changes that are recognized by qualified cryptographers as a vast improvement to its encryption scheme. Since 2017, for example, the MTProto protocol has been recognized as IND-CCA secure.

Additionally, the story has be updated to clarify that Telegram does not use end-to-end encryption by default. Client-server communication is encrypted by default."

I have used telegram in the past but especially the leaking of metadata (when one is online, who is he talking too and so on) isn't to my liking at all!

@joebrochin From a cybersecurity perspective, I would treat Telegram like any other social media platform.  There is little in the way of verifying to whom you are communicating with, if they see the message (non-repudiation), or that the data you send is private in any reasonable way.  It is essentially an electronic bulletin board.  It can be hacked, spoofed, and manipulated by those with malicious intent (just like other online social networks).  I recommend you only share what you would want to be public (even when using direct messages).
