sometimes the Weekly Challenge gives you the opportunity to use monsters you just had forgotten about
the Gem Meteor is a Neutral Monster which belongs to this category
i don't use it a lot cause while playing in the WILD format
i'd rather say it is more useful in MODERN format tournaments ,but this is only me speaking, other players who came on board recently will find it more useful

apart from anything else let me say that the art concept is rather spectacular
it is a very nice drawn monster , i like the detail on its face
i believe all of us agree that the NFTs art has been upgraded a lot comparing to the first ones

the Gem Meteor is a Ranged attack monster with the Scattershot ability from lvl 1
so while it attacks random in the battlefield it gets too powerful when you upgrade it
it can reach 4 attack points with piercing at maximum level, which is rather lethal

what can you say!
there are times in life, things go the other way from what you expected
this is exactly what happened in this fight
i had everything in place ,i tried to think about everything but it didn't work for me eventually
i lost the battle , actually my opponent destroyed my team
i truly believe it was nobody's fault, it was just that my opponent was way too strong for my deck
if you watch the battle you will see that the 'gap' between the two rival teams is chaotic!!

but instead of whining lets go through the battle..
first of all we had to choose between 4 Splinters
fire , life, water and dragons
for some reason i felt i had to go with life Splinter and Sloan as the Summoner
it was not a bad choice , actually it was  very very good despite the final result

General Sloan is the latest Chaos Legion Life's Splinter Summoner
i have to admit that i underestimated his ability to give plus 1 range attack point to his soldiers 
but after i used him in some battles i found that i was very wrong about the General
i won stronger opponents with Sloan and he gained my respect
now i consider him a must-have Summoner and i will tell you that only Selenia Sky shares the same ability 
Yodin, Archmage and Renyn also give +1 in range attacks but they provide other abilities too

the battle rules were NO LEGENDARIES and EQUALIZER
so every monster got the same maximum health
the reason i picked Sloan is because given the opponent i thought with this Summoner i would get the most out of the attack
i had in mind to go with the water Splinter as well and try to get advantage on magic attack but i decided that range attack might save me
and i say 'save me' cause i knew i was gonna face a massive opponent, it was obvious that he was stronger than me

when the decks revealed on the battlefield i knew i was correct and i made the right decision
even if i had picked a Water Splinter Summoner my opponent got the Grandmaster Rathe 
for those who don't understand who Rathe is , i'm just mentioning that he provides VOID ARMOR to every monster of his team so no matter if you use magic attack monsters you still DO NOT penetrate the rival's armor

so anyway what i had to face was a maximum level deck for the league we were fighting in
and not only this
it was like my opponent had the best read ever against me
for every trick i tried to initiate in the battle he had a counter trick against me
i tried to use the Prismologist  to get the blast ability...wrong ...he got the Bosun neutralizing the blast
i got plus 1 in range attack..he got the Silvershield Knight providing +1 melee points in his monsters
he also decide to play a sneak assassin strategy which in total destroyed my back line and my strategy to put a healer in the last position
forget about it guys it was a total disaster
he destroyed me, every single thing went wrong
i suffered indeed a humiliating loss
i just managed to get down his tank, thank god at least i did this and it was not a flawless victory for him

the Gem Meteor didn't make any difference at all, he is a support monster  anyway, i cannot blame him for the loss

it was a nice battle though i vigorously lost,it made me understand that upgrading your Summoner is a hard job but you have to go through it otherwise you will suffer such kind of losses
in order to upgrade your Summoners you need money, much money...so don't waste your time
do what ever it takes to get your Summoners upgraded, at least to the lvl your league requires
