Is there a way to tell how many votes a user has cast per week/month/total somewhere?

In theory, given the dis-incentives for posting more than 4 times per day, we'd expect a max of around 28 posts per week (4x7=28), yet this is where the top50 *starts*...

Wow  I made it on the list.I didn't realize that I made so many comments.

My observations: Editing a post bumps you in the (active) ranking. The 4 posts/day penalty does not apply to this.

I'm curious,  are these stats of users counting each person once,  or is it counting how many posts were made?  Does one person who makes 100 comments counted only once as an active user?

I think we can look in retrospect and learn what happened as other social media platforms grew...cybersquatting...never really thought of it - yet, it's so obvious...it's like a new iteration of domain name marketing...anyway, there's a place for everybody..I guess...and as you said, with time and with the development of the platform we should be better able to get things under better control.

I'm number 14 on the most active user list.  Pretty cool.

Thank you for your efforts in doing this research.I would like to point out one thing when it comes to inactive accounts: Some people register (like my girlfriend and my room mate),and then forget about it,because it´s new to them,they have others things to do,and it seems a bit abstract.A lot of people have the intuition that the money in Steem is not "real" because they are not used to cryptocurrencies.I think my girlfriend will reconsider when her steemit account balance is bigger ,in a month or so..

I'd really like to see how many people are purchasing steem and powering up to get steem power. I think the bigger question in the short terms is how many people are purchasing steem to power up. If there are not enough new people purchasing ownership in the currency then the venture capital that is allowing for people to cash out is going to go dry up very quickly. If on the other hand people are purchasing a lot of steem power, even if only as a speculative investment, that can still carry the liquidity that is needed in the system for a while. Ultimately, however, users need to feel it is worth purchasing steem power because the influence on the platform is worth the investment, which ultimately means steemit.com needs to drive off site traffic and economic activity to be worth the investment in steem power. I don't see anyone talking about this need to drive off site economic activity and I think it is the most critical measure of long term success for the platform. Do you agree? If so, can you gather the stats on people powering up? Could you gather data on traffic being directed from Steemit.com to other sites? If you disagree, why do you disagree?

It is good to know that a lot of editing will be punished. I don't agree with that by the way, why punish an update? I started a few days ago and I am pretty active here, so I hope to be in the list next week or in two weeks, haha :)

not sure if editing a post 'bumps' you. but given the 4 posts per day rule that come in recently even if he did get exposure the penalty for that many updates would wipe out his potential gain anyway

I've got to thank you, furion; My main goal is learning a new thing every day, and today that new thing is cybersquatting. I've got to wonder, as I have most days lately if my 'value translation' parameters are too calcified to change. My default setting of 'blisters+blood+sweat = value' needs an upgrade. Does anyone know of a  download that would upgrade me from Neandertal​ 1.5 to CyberAware Human 1.0?

@furion This is great info.  Might be a lot of fun to see who the top 50 posters and commentors are by upvotes.

My problem with Steemit is that there aren't enough quality posts.  Medium is my preferred place to go for quality posts to read and contribute, the community is more quality, the people are more quality. People who write there genuinely write quality stuff that come to my inbox and make me want to read it and log on. I come here and it's hard to want to be involved.  It's mostly just people talking about themselves; and not about others, what they can do for others or what they are doing for others. Not enough tips or advice or guides or people interested in them; no how to program X, Y, Z, etc. 

Steemit is cool concept, and it's creating a way to do social media different, but, I wish steemit had more quality and less junk and an easier way to sif through it, as well as to modify your personal identity and so on. Sure I could write some posts here and maybe I will but  being a reader who enjoys reading quality stuff online, hard to find that on steemit. Maybe it is the type of audience steemit attracts, I'll have to think more on that.  In any case it's personally why I am not active on steemit, at this point and time it's simply not rewarding or fun to be here beyond 'financial' reward.
