Dang I've been promoting Steemit on my blogs for free but Promoting then with a reward attached would be AMAZING! Hope steemit does decide to go with an affiliate program, as I already linked everything to my account for now, just in case:  http://www.steemit.com/?r=btcupload

Damn referral would be sick, maybe a 10℅ steem power for every referral sign up? Could be very incentive inducing.

Be careful with referrals. I agree with poster that it will cause lots of inactive accounts. You want to someone to open an account, post, vote, get some rewards learn about the whales and steem power  then buy steem. Referrals won't help as much as big dollar amounts  on post that seem like they could have been written by anyone. If you have referral rewards it's much better to get a reward for posting a link to a high value post on Twitter Facebook linked I. Etc. and reward for that than reward for account openings.

It will be very interesting to look at all this!

From what I have seen, the URL you showed is in the correct format.  

I have also heard people talk about how many referrals they have referred.  So I think the data is already being collected somewhere, although I don't think there is any kind of reward for generating referrals yet.

If someone else can clarify, that would be great!

refferal system is good and an easiest way to attract more member, but maybe its may attract people thats come only for money. :v

If it's introduced I think the best would be a reward system per user something like 5 SP or there abouts. Amazon rapids growth was caused by it's affiliates, Steem will spread like wildfire with a referal system.

Seriously? Is there really going to be such a thing? I believe this would be awesome! The really cool thing though is the all of us are here NOW, which means weather we are able to make extra $ for referring people or not, we will still benefit as Steemit grows because we are the ones who got here first  ;-)
That being said, I will market my A** off if they DO reward us with Steem for referrals!

Hi, nice post. I also wanna know about affiliate program of steemit.

I'm not sure if we really need a referral program. Steem is so freakin' awesome platform that it will market itself pretty much automatically without any added incentives. Things have just started and we are already the third most valuable blockchain.

I'm afraid that referral program might only cause a lot of spam instead of bringing something really valuable for the community.

If there ever is a referral program, I hope it doesn't give any rewards for new accounts that are created for free. It would bring too much fake users instead of real ones. Referral program should only apply to new accounts that the new user paid for (new account buying feature isn't implemented yet, but hopefully it will be soon).

I support this! It would be so worth it to actually get people into Steemit that way.

Regardless of when or how it  gets added, ill still be going hard. But yea a referral program would literally make  signups  increase  10-100x so we need to be ready.

I've been wondering about this, I have a bunch of friends that want to join but (as greedy as it sounds) don't really want them to join until the referral program is up and running xD .

Theres a few ways they can implement it:-
1.*just a flat out SP amount per user*
2.*A small % of what they receive from blogging or curating*
3.*and ontop of it all this could work on a scaling system eg. first 10 invited is 2% next 10 is 4% ect ect.*
