Checking in on Binance (BNB), A Must Own Token

Binance is still the top fee-based crypto exchange out there, doing over $1 billion in volume daily.

At the peak back in December/January it was doing over $9 billion daily.

So the volume is down, but that’s true for all exchanges. Binance continues to make moves to become one of the top crypto companies in the space.

There’s been no shortage of news over the last two months:

On June 1 it [announced]( https://cointelegraph.com/news/top-crypto-exchange-binance-seeks-20-major-partners-for-giant-1-bln-fund) the Community Influence fund, a $1b fund that will back blockchain and crypto startups. BNB tokens will be the financing vehicle.

There’s been a lot of Malta news too. Recall that Binance announced in March it was moving its headquarters to Malta.

On June 11 it [announced]( https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-exchange-binance-to-offer-fiat-crypto-trading-via-malta-based-platform) plans to allow fiat-crypto trading this year through a separate Malta-based exchange. Binance Malta will most likely begin fiat trading with a euro-Bitcoin pair.

It also backed a program by the Malta Stock Exchange (MSE) called the [MSX FinTech Accelerator Programme]( https://cointelegraph.com/news/binance-supports-malta-stock-exchange-s-stratup-accelerator-program) that will support fintech and crypto startups.

Finally, Binance is backing plans to create a blockchain-based bank with tokenized ownership. The future [Founders Bank](https://cointelegraph.com/news/malta-crypto-exchange-binance-backs-plans-to-create-first-decentralized-tokenized-bank) would be owned by digital token investors and be based in Malta. The new bank plans to conduct its offering through the blockchain-based equity fundraising platform Neufund.

What else…

The BNB token is now on [ShapeShift]( https://oracletimes.com/bnb-token-is-listed-on-shapeshift-binance-could-remain-the-market-leader/).

Binance also opened the first crypto-fiat exchange in Uganda, [Binance Uganda](https://www.coindesk.com/binance-opens-first-crypto-fiat-exchange-uganda/).

Crazy to think, but Binance just reached its one-year anniversary. Results have been impressive.

Binance expects a net profit of [$500 million to $1 billion](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-07-06/world-s-largest-crypto-exchange-eyes-1-billion-profit-amid-rout) in 2018.

Per the [First Year Review](https://medium.com/binanceexchange/binances-first-year-in-review-b0708c4c485c) Binance now has 143 tokens with 370 trading pairs, burned 7,556,667 BNB tokens in accordance with buyback and burn system, and is the number one global exchange by volume.

Oh, and CEO and Founder, Changpeng Zhao, expects Binance’s decentralized exchange, [Binance Chain](https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/ceo-changpeng-zhao-talks-binance-chain-decentralized-exchange-details/) to debut this year. And they’re also expanding to [South Korea](https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/binance-plans-expand-south-korea/).

BNB is not a token you want to sell!
