Checking Out Syscoin (SYS), The Decentralized Marketplace

[Syscoin]( https://syscoin.org/) provides businesses the infrastructure to trade goods, assets, digital certificates and data securely.  And it does it with near zero financial transaction costs.

Some liken Syscoin to the eBay of cryptocurrency.

The blockchain powers all Syscoin services. It’s decentralized system of record hosted by a series of nodes on the Syscoin network.

And the team behind Syscoin is [Blockchain Foundry](https://www.blockchainfoundry.co/) and Syscoin is their flagship product.

Syscoin’s main product is Blockmarket. It’s the world’s first decentralized marketplace. And the newest generation of Syscoin’s desktop wallet comes with the Blockmarket marketplace built-in. (See picture below)

The Syscoin blockchain offers a number of features:

Decentralized Marketplaces – Syscoin can support everything from full decentralized marketplaces to centralized business markets. Further, if offers price pegging so you can interact in both fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies.

Distributed Certificate Management – By using the cryptography of the blockchain you can issue, authorize, and exchange digital certificates of any kind. This allows for the creation and free exchange of any kind of digital asset.

Name Aliases – With Syscoin you can connect names to addresses. So instead of someone having to know your 27-34 character Syscoin address, they just need to know your name.

Merge Minable – Syscoin leverages the power merge-mining with Bitcoin and other SHA-256 coins. That means Syscoin gets to piggyback on the most secure blockchain in the world.

Syscoin released its first version of Blockmarket desktop in September and have since released two updates. You can see what it looks like below.

I’ve downloaded Blockmarket desktop and deposited my SYS. It was fairly easy to use. You can check out the Blockmarket tutorial [here](https://youtu.be/WtVobhqbGsQ).

Next up for Syscoin is Blockmarket Web, which is schedule for a March release on the roadmap.
