Today I want to talk a show that I recently started watching. It is non other than Demon Slayer and yes I am aware that I am living under a rock but for all of you guys that are also behind the curve I would like to recommend this show from all of my hearth! I was aware of this show for a long time but I was always a little bit concerned about animies being too childish. Well, I can say that this one proved me definitely wrong. In a nutshell I am very thrilled by what you can actually do, story wise and that is also one of my main pros here! The story and characters are just amazing, but mor eon that a little bit down below.

I wanted to talk a little bit about the story without giving too much away. After that I will showcase why I really enjoy watching this show and last but not least we will talk about all the other stuff that could be important for you. Just as heads up, I will try to keep it spoiler free, but some things I just need to tell for the context. Therefore, if you are already planning to watch this show and do not need any convincing, feel free to skip this one! 😊


### Interesting Start
With that being said, let’s jump straight into my review/ try to persuade more people to watch this show! Already at the start we are getting thrown into a world that seems a little bit old. It has nothing to do with the current technologies as we see a family living on a mountain. It seems like the family father is not there anymore, and we are following the main character: Tanjiro Kamado. I think he is the oldest of his siblings and therefore has the biggest responsibility. We are getting some sense of his character as a very friendly young lad that is always there to help people. 

Without too much losing time, the end of the first episode kicks things off. As he returns from one of his trips to the city, he finds his family murdered. Every single one of his siblings as well as his mother. This is definitely not a kid’s show and it will continue to stay this way. We find out that a demon is responsible for that as we kind of getting a foreshadow on this action. The only survivor of this attack is Tanjiro’s little sister Nezuko. Or at least that is what we are meant to believe. In the process of rescuing her, Tanjiro is finding out that she was turned into a demon!

While she is trying to attack him, a Demon Slayer comes to his rescue. Here, we first are getting introduced to a clan of people that are not known in the majority of the population. In fact, the majority of people are not even aware of demons in this world. Either the demons are very clever or the Demon Slayer’s are doing a great job. Anyhow, this is when we find out that Tanjiro will go through hell to protect his sister, even though she turned into a demon. This bond will be very important throughout the whole show. With this in mind, the Demon Slayer is giving Tanjiro some directions and off we go into the world of “Demon Slayer”.


### More Questions Than Answers
This is also where I stop telling you too much about the story. In fact, I watched only the shows that are out already, but there is the whole manga series that you could read to get the whole story immediately. Throughout the series different aspects of this world will be introduced. It is basically like a guidance and playbook with all the rules. You are getting introduced to different ranks of demons as well as the Demon Slayer corp. Not only that but we are getting also the roadmap to Tanjiro’s plan and who the main villain of this series is. It might change to be honest but I am expecting no surprises there to be honest.

I think this show does a great job of creating questions that are being answered only step by step. Furthermore, there are many secrets that need to be explained which keeps you watching this show. It is topped with the great animations and very cool characters. Even the demon side is not just brainless villains. In many cases, you can get their positions and even feel with them. It is not a black and white picture but a whole lot of many grey shades there!


### Very Emotional
Which brings me to one of the biggest strengths of this show: The Emotions! This show has brought me very close to tears like no other. I think the character of Tanjiro paired with the perfect music is very a great catalysator for many scenes! This show is valuing friendship, family and love very great and with that, there come many quotes that can be taken for whole life decisions. On top of that, the passion and anger of many characters are portrayed very well.

Despite the fact that this show has this very serious background, I would say that there are still a lot of comedic elements to it. Some of them I would not be the biggest fan off. Biggest example is the character’s best friend’s behavior in certain situations. But other than that I am blown away how balanced the characters are.


### Conclusion
In conclusion, I would really recommend to anyone who did not try an animie yet, to try out this show. It could be your starting point to a whole new world of entertainment. Myself is wondering now, whether there are more gems like this which I can enjoy. I really like good story telling with many secretes and I think this is exactly what I was craving for a long time! With this being said, maybe you guys can recommend me even some stuff. I heard that “Death Note” is supposed to be a cool show. I also benched trough “Attack On Titan” which can be also counted to one of my favorites!
