Another week, another amazing Battle to Share! This time around we are battling with the Molten Ash Golem. When I first saw the drawing of this card, I was really sure that this will be a Melee card. But I was proven wrong. In this post we will talk about more specifically about this interesting card. We will also discuss the cards that we used in combination to win our battle and walk trough our planned strategy. In the end we will analyze our battle against our opponent.

### Molten Ash Golem
First things first, let’s talk about the Molten Ash Golem. Like I said in the beginning, this card’s name and picture is predetermined to be a heavy Melee Tank. But no, this card is a ranged attacker! Well, with the amazing Ability of still being able to attack from the first position due to Closed Range. After all I have not been completely wrong! Well, as for the stats this card is a very interesting card. With 6 mana to spent, you are getting a card with one attack and one speed on the base level. There are definitely better ones out there. But you will also get 9 health which makes up for the rest. This means you can put it anywhere on the field and be sure that it will make a good tank once it is in the first position.

On top of that you can level this card and with higher levels, this card becomes even stronger. Not only are you getting the Weaken Ability on the Top level, you are also able to reduce the health of all opposition monsters from level 5 on! Furthermore, the stats can go up to potentially 3 attack, 2 speed and 10 health. All in all a pretty cool card that unfolds its true potential in higher levels but also has use cases in the lower leagues as well.


### Tank Material
With that being said, we need to talk about our strategy and what cards we want to combine in this battle now. Because we have a total of 58 mana to spend, we can definitely be generous with our mana spending. This means that we do not have to choose between different monsters. We can just take both of them. This is the case with our tank choice! I usually switch between the Forgotten One and Grum, but because we have enough mana this time around I like to use both, even though it means that one of them will start attacking once he is in the first position.

We will start with the Forgotten One which looks like the Big Brother of the Molten Ash Golem to be honest. For 9 mana we are getting 4 attack, 2 speed, 4 armor and 8 health which is a pretty cool stat distribution. On higher levels this cards becomes stronger and gets also the Retaliate Ability which makes this card even more favorable for great battles. The immunity ability rounds this card up and allows us to play it in Poison Rulesets as well.

The other tank that we will use is Grum Flameblade. I really like this card because he is the perfect counter to magic cards. On level two he will even get the Void Ability which reduces the magic damage in general. With 4 attack 5 armor and 10 health, this card is definitely a great tank and with the Bloodlust Ability it is even more crazy! Every time this card manages to get rid of an opponent’s card, its stats are getting increased. This means that if you manage to just kill one card, this one is automatically getting stronger.

### Backline Units
Alright, now that we have our tanks out of the way, we still need to discuss how we will be able to deal some damage. This is where we need to talk about the Backline Units a bit. Since Fire is a great Melee Splitner, I like to use Tenyii Striker a lot! The reason is that I am able to put him anywhere and with his Sneak Ability he will be destroying the Backline of our opponent. Usually, I like to combine him with Uraues und other Sneak attacking cards to overload the backline damage. In this case we just used one Sneak attacker because our priorities were laying on the opponent’s tank. 

This is also why I chose another Ranged attacker with the Close Range Abiltiy. The Lava Launcher is a great card to use in these use cases. With 3 attack 6 armor, 5 health and a great 3 speed, you can be sure that the opponents tank is getting damaged. With higher levels, the damage increases and you are getting more damage for 9 mana but even on level one this card is an amazing addition in high mana plays.

### Example Battle
With our team sorted, we can start our battle against a very hard opponent. He also chose the Fire Splinter and had a very similar build like ours. Well, almost: we chose two tanks which was very beneficial in the end. On top of that we had our Molten Ash Golem who funnily enough made the last blow in this battle. All in all we were able to reduce his damage ability by getting rid of most of his backline first while applying pressure to his tank. Yes we lost our tank early on, but this is why we planned for Grum to take over. Until the end he was able to stand his ground and we resulted in victory.
