I am a big fan of street-art but I live in a city where there isn't very much of it anywhere and when you do find it, it tends to be sloppy crap that appears as though it was done in a hurry because the police the muck about when it comes to this sort of thing.  I don't know what the penalties are for vandalism - which is what most of the "street art" here actually is, but it must be pretty severe.   It is also very difficult to find spray cans of paint for sale anyway and this might be a big part of the reason why we don't see much spray art here at all.

Now for all the people out there that have seen truly great street art, this definitely isn't on that level.  I'm just saying that compared to what else we have on offer here in Da Nang, this is one of the better ones that I have seen.   It also appears as though the people didn't have permission to do this but it was on an abandoned building that was actually pretty fantastic in its own right but that's something I'll write about later.

I like the way that the lettering is contoured about the same all the way across and they didn't "paint outside of the lines" excessively like I see in so many other tags around town.   They clearly had enough time to do this properly and since there is no electricity in this location, they would have had to have done it under the cover of darkness.  

As far as street art goes, tags are probably my least favorite but at least for these 4-5 people that were involved in this had the decency to do a pretty great job of it.   

It won't be around for very long though as this building is in a high-profile area that is ever filling up with more and more hotels along the beach.   This wall, and all the other walls around it will almost certainly not even be here for another year. Hopefully I'll find some other pieces soon but for the most part this city is covered in gang-sign looking garbage that had little to no effort put into it.   The search will continue though!
