Shopping with my mom! [ENG/SPA]

Relatively recently a traki, one of the largest department stores in my country, opened here in my small town. 

It's great, because not only does it create jobs for many people, but it also brings a lot of commerce to the municipality and the state. It's growth for my small town. 

Although it is just starting and there is even part of the construction site, they opened their doors to the public to begin with.

Hace relativamente poco inauguraron aquí en mi pequeña ciudad un traki, una de las tiendas por departamentos más grandes de mi país. 

Es genial, porque no solo crea oferta de empleo para muchas personas, sino que también da mucho comercio en el municipio y en el estado. Es crecimiento para mi pequeña ciudad. 

Aunque apenas está empezando e incluso hay parte de la obra en construcción, abrieron sus puertas al público para comenzar.

According to what I was told, there were concerts in the parking lot, something that must be true because the stage was still working. I guess that in the evenings there are music groups to liven up the atmosphere...

But I am not going to talk about music, but about the store and the person who accompanied me. My mom. 

As you can see in the photo below, it is a huge place, at least if you compare it to the stores you are used to in this city.

Según me comentaron, hubo conciertos en el estacionamiento, algo que debe ser verdad porque estaba aún la tarima funcionando. Supongo que en las noches hay grupos de música para amenizar el ambiente...

Pero no voy a hablar de música, sino de la tienda y de la persona que me acompañó. Mi mamá. 

Como pueden ver en la foto de abajo, es un lugar enorme, al menos si se compara con las tiendas a las que uno está acostumbrado en esta ciudad.

I remember my mom was very excited to go, since it's great to see those things here, we no longer have to travel to Barquisimeto, a neighboring city, to go to a Traki, because we already have it here. 

So I decided to take her, take the two of us out for a walk and buy her some stuff, after all I am the only son she has here, so I have to show off for her.

Recuerdo que mi mamá estaba muy emocionada por ir, ya que es genial ver esas cosas aquí, ya no tenemos que viajar a Barquisimeto, una ciudad vecina, para ir a un Traki, porque ya lo tenemos aquí. 

Por ello decidí llevarla, salir los dos a pasear y comprarle algunas cosas, después de todo soy el único hijo que tiene aquí, así que tengo que lucirme con ella.

As I told you, it is a department store so we both went to see the things that my mom likes the most. 

We are both planning to fix up the little house she has, one that still has a few things left to finish, but I plan to help her fix it up and buy her things, so we went straight to the home area to see the things that were there.

Como les dije, es una tienda por departamento así que los dos nos fuimos a ver las cosas que más le gustan a mi mamá. 

Los dos estamos planeando arreglar la casita que ella tiene, una que aún le faltan algunas cosas para terminar, pero pienso ayudarla a arreglarlas y a comprar sus cosas, por eso fuimos directamente al área del hogar para ver las cosas que había.

There were certainly some very nice things and at a very good price. She saw things that I didn't know what they were for, for example the two baskets you saw above, she told me they were baskets that could be used for laundry, for example... I had no idea what they could be used for.

The glasses and plates below, can also come in handy for eating outdoors or when you don't want to take out the glass plates for fear that a visitor (like me) is going to break them.

Ciertamente había cosas muy bonitas y a muy buen precio. Ella vio cosas que yo no sabía para qué eran, por ejemplo las dos cestas que vieron arriba, me dijo que eran cestas que podrían usarse para la ropa sucia, por ejemplo... yo ni idea de para qué podrían usarse.

Los vasos y platos de abajo, también pueden resultar prácticos para comer al aire libre o cuando no quieres sacar los platos de vidrio por miedo a que alguna visita (como yo) los vaya a romper.

Between the two of us we saw some very nice things. I asked what some of the things were, as they were in such strange packaging and shapes that I didn't understand what they were, so she patiently showed me what they could be used for and what they were for. 

There were kitchen sets of wooden boards and cutlery like the ones you see below, plus glass containers with a wooden cover, something that I would never buy because it would last me at most a week, everything falls out of my hands....

Entre los dos vimos cosas muy bonitas. Yo preguntaba qué eran algunas cosas, pues estaban en empaques y formas tan extrañas que no entendía qué eran, así que ella con mucha paciencia me mostraba en qué podrían usarse y para qué eran. 

Habían juegos de cocina de tablas y cubiertos de madera como los que ven más abajo, además de envases de vidrio con una cubierta de madera, algo que yo en la vida compraría pues me duraría a lo mucho una semana, todo se me cae de las manos...

When we got to the pots and pans area, both of our eyes lit up because we are both missing some of these sets. But we will buy them.

For now, we bought two frying pans, one for each of us.

I must say that I really enjoyed the place and as the two of us walked around, chatting and looking at the many things that were there.

It was entertaining to see the shelves so beautiful with the merchandise so organized and so varied.

My mom fell in love with some rugs and curtains in one of the areas. I asked her which one she wanted and bought it for her, the bill was already going up, but she's my mom, no expense spared.

As we were walking, I told her to take a picture of us. Where there weren't too many people because she is very bad at taking pictures. 

Yet she was encouraged. Meet her, that's my lady mother.

We arrived at a very interesting area for me, because it was a place where there were chairs, furniture and office things that caught my attention.

My mom usually has a good eye for these things, so she recommended me to buy this or that, of course, when I had money. I'll take her advice and come back to look at the prices when I have some money again.

Llegamos a un área muy interesante para mi, pues era un lugar donde había sillas, muebles y cosas de oficina que me llamaron mucho la atención.

Mi mamá suele tener buen ojo para estas cosas, así que me recomendó comprar esto o aquello, claro, cuando tuviera dinero. Le tomaré el consejo y volveré a ver los precios cuando vuelva a tomar algo de dinero.

For example, my mom fell in love with the lamps below, the ones on the right. She loved all those wooden lamps and I thought.... "I could do something like that..."

Future project? Yes, of course...

After seeing everything in the home area, we arrived at the clothing area, where there were more people. There everyone was trying on clothes and it was because we were shopping for clothes that it took us a little over two hours to leave, because there was literally a huge line to try on what we were going to buy.

My mom brought her own money to buy some blouses and I let her buy them, but I asked her to pick out a few more, as I would give them to her in addition to the rug and the frying pan.

I found the mannequins throughout the store curious, as they were well exposed in each exhibition.

We also bought a pair of shoes each. She told me she needed walking shoes, so the ones she bought turned out to be quite comfortable and soft. I bought one of these brown ones. 

From the amount of shoes there, I suspect I will meet several in the city wearing the same model hehe.....

También nos compramos un par de zapatos cada uno. Ella me dijo que necesitaba zapatos para caminar, así que los que se compró resultaron ser bastante cómodos y suaves. Yo me compré uno de estos marrones. 

Por la cantidad de zapatos que hay allí, sospecho que me encontraré a varios en la ciudad usando el mismo modelo jeje...
