Mare Sheehan is the guardian of Easttown, a small town in Pennsylvania that is somewhat cold and gray. Her work as her detective has led her to become involved in the lives of almost everyone in the little boot she calls home. Her criticisms follow her closely, she is human and it is normal for her to make mistakes. And among so many worries and torments, she appears a naked body without vital signs in the middle of a forest. Mare, as rude and crude as the name she comes from, must use all of her cuts to connect the dots and find the culprit, despite the fact that she herself faces the worst crime of all time: the murder of her own humanity.
The quest for mystery is to cause an overflight in the viewer with theories, speculations and an unpredictable police thriller. This TV series called "Mare of Easttown" has a lot of that. We find immersive characters, with complex dramatic twists and very ruined points of view. The murder of a young girl is the thread that motivates the whole argument, however, the plot focuses on the internal conflict of her protagonist, from whose eyes a completely archaic, fierce and traumatic perspective is shown. We find relief from the past in scenarios that take us away from it, and this is exactly the premise behind the story of Mare, a sensitive and emotionally damaged woman who hides under superiority complexes.

Mare's story immerses us in the difficult roles that a mother must embrace on the way through the lake of fire that life tends to be. She simply wants to flee from her martyrdom by saving others of her own. She is a woman who suffers and feels guilty for losing a part of herself. The funny thing about this television series is that it does not need mystery to shine and attract audiences, and although this fact is fundamental in Thriller, we also look at the characters' own battle to deal with the savage reality of vices.
Some decide to cling to something that causes pain and misfortune, and Mare, this Easttown detective follows this harmful pattern in her pretense to fix everything and not suffer in the attempt. Episode after episode, we watch Mare using any strategy to make sense of the doubts that hit her conscience. She is like a piece of ice, cold and indifferent, scruffy and tongue-tied. She might do things like put drugs in her daughter-in-law's car to get custody of her grandson, but she is a concerned grandmother and does her best to protect the little one. Mare still remembers the attic, the hanging body and the heavy tears of her loss, and will do everything possible so that no other loved one is away from her.

Mare of Easttown turns out to be a story that, unlike others in the detective genre, maintains its essence with complex characters and deep drama. The mystery, in this case, becomes the background of the argument that balances the whole. It is a television series with many resources to attract the viewer, from an infamous crime to unexpected disappearances. The camera rises to reveal many hypotheses, allowing the line of action to twist and turn to keep the suspense and confusion in each episode. What most caught my attention was the nuance of the characters, designed with a disheveled prospect and little adjusted to morality.
Brad Ingelsby plays on our common sense by introducing Plot Points that seem to fit the general crime, but are ultimately isolated twists with the sole aim of making the story unpredictable. The strong element behind Mare of Easttown is its unwillingness to be a predictable story. Despite the fact that the plot takes place on the scene of the murderer, the crime and the detective, the trigger is so unexpected that this recurring chain falls apart before our eyes. Perhaps there were some facts that were out of place, yet the story does not lose its rhythm or its appeal.

Mare of Easttown is a story that grips you with irresistible mystery and captivating drama with some touches of tragedy. This television series is undoubtedly one of the best I have seen this year.
