Hello dear friends of Hive Book Club, this is my first Post in this community, and I would like to tell you about a book that, from the day it was recommended to me, caused a very particular interest in me. It is The Satanic Verses of the writer Salman Rushdie, a man of Indian origin who caused a lot of stir in Islamic culture after the publication of this novel, which curiously, has many substantial references related to Muslim beliefs, a fact that has led him to hide in London due to the death threats that have persecuted him behind the verses that hide the phrases of his most controversial literary work.
>Hola queridos amigos  de  Hive Book Club, este es mi primer Post en esta comunidad, y quisiera hablarles sobre un libro que, desde el día en que me lo recomendaron, causó un interés muy particular en mí. Se trata de Los Versos Satánicos del escritor Salman Rushdie, un hombre de origen indio que causó mucho revuelo en la cultura islámica tras la publicación de esta novela, la cual curiosamente, tiene muchas referencias sustanciales relacionadas a las creencias musulmanas, hecho que lo ha llevado a ocultarse en Londres por las amenazas de muerte que lo han perseguido tras los versos que esconden las frases de sus más polémica obra literaria.

The play itself takes place in London after the fateful explosion of a plane over the English Channel. In full free fall, with some discussions that ignored the danger of death, Gibreel Farishta and Saladin Chamcha fall into the void with little hope. After an inexplicable miracle that leaves them both alive, these peculiar actors of Hindu origin must mix in an English society that makes them delirious. In this context, they suffer from existential shocks, particularly related to their cultures, that little by little will transform them into supposed deities. Between visions and revelations, they will learn about the legend itself that skimps in its origins, relying on a relentless struggle to accept and be accepted.
>La obra en sí transcurre en Londres tras la fatídica explosión de un avión sobre el canal de la mancha. En plena caída libre, con algunas discusiones que ignoraban el peligro de la muerte,  Gibreel Farishta y Saladin Chamcha caen al vacío con pocas esperanzas. Tras un milagro inexplicable que los deja a ambos con vida, estos peculiares actores de origen hindú deben mezclarse en una sociedad inglesa que los vuelve delirantes. En ese contexto sufren de choques existenciales, particularmente relacionados a sus culturas, que poco a poco los transformarán en deidades supuestas.   Entre visiones y revelaciones, aprenderán sobre la propia leyenda que escatima en sus orígenes, apoyándose en una lucha inclemente para aceptarse y ser aceptados.

Salman Rushdie introduces us to an ironic text wherever you look at it, with mimic essences that imply sarcasm as one of the most attractive resources in the making of the word. His implicit allegories wander in the very arbitrariness of Muslim culture, making recurring allegories to the versions of the prophet Muhammad and the Qur'an. The novel is a representation of the culture of the Islan itself, versioned as a harsh criticism in the eyes of the interpretation. It is well known that the author uses the allegory as a pang to the message of the word: we are beings full of doubts, although with little courage to express them.
>Salman Rushdie nos introduce a un texto irónico por donde lo mires, con esencias mímicas que implican al sarcasmo como uno de los recursos más atrayentes en la confección de la palabra. Sus alegorías implícitas vagan en la propia arbitrariedad de la cultura musulmana, haciendo alegorías recurrentes a las versiones del profeta Mahoma y el Corán. La novela es una representación de la propia cultura del islán, versionada como una crítica dura a los ojos de la interpretación. Es notorio que el autor usa la alegoría como una punzada al mensaje de la palabra: somos seres repletos de dudas, aunque con poco valor para expresarlas.

The Satanic Verses is the hypocrisy within the truth, a kind of blasphemy acclaimed by a group of characters whose role becomes unbalanced as the pages go by. Hence, the great notoriety of the title of this novel, which also alludes to contexts such as xenophobia and nationalism. This reality leads the protagonists to live a kind of existential crisis. Immersed in the streets of London, they begin to look with different eyes at everything that once surrounded their cultures. They don't fit in, and so they want to redeem themselves from grotesque horns and magical visions. The clash of ideas is present throughout the text, which opens a great gap between reasoning and common sense.
>Los Versos Satánicos es la hipocresía dentro de la verdad, una clase de blasfemia aclamada por un grupo de personajes cuyo rol se desequilibra con el trascurrir de las páginas.  De allí, la gran notoriedad del título de esta novela, la cual también alude a contextos como el de la xenofobia y el nacionalismo. Dicha realidad conlleva a los protagonistas a vivir una especie de crisis existencial. Sumergidos en las calles londinenses, empiezan a mirar con otros ojos todo lo que alguna vez rodeó sus culturas. No encajan, y por eso desean redimirse frente a cuernos grotescos y visiones mágicas.  El choque de ideas está presente en todo el texto, lo que abre una gran brecha entre el razonamiento y el sentido común.

At some point in my reading I paused, perhaps shocked by the grotesque trigger of the rhetorical figures. Magical realism founds the facts, a question that made me remember something in the style of Gabriel García Márquez. However, the Satanic Verses have something more than the search for identity and internal reasoning, since the message that surrounds the premise inquires about a discomfort that is widely seen even in today's times: intolerance. The most curious thing is that the book itself was the trigger for a general malaise that made Salman Rushdie one of the most valued writers for his own death.
>En algún punto de mi lectura hice una pausa, tal vez conmocionado por el detonante grotesco de las figuras retoricas. El realismo mágico fundamenta los hechos, cuestión que me hizo recordar algo del estilo de Gabriel García Márquez. Sin embargo, los Versos Satánicos cuentan algo más allá que la búsqueda de la identidad y el razonamiento interno, pues el mensaje que rodea la premisa indaga sobre un malestar muy visto incluso en los tiempos de hoy: la intolerancia. Lo más curioso, es que el propio libro fue el detonante de un malestar general que hizo a Salman Rushdie uno de los escritores más valorados para su propia muerte.

Today, the author remains in hiding in England, where he is offered protection after his death sentence by Ayatollah Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini. The Satanic Verses were first published in 1988, being a substantial reference to the xenophobia and racism that Rushdie himself suffered while studying at the Rugby School in London. The trajectory of this writer has led him to win several recognitions such as the Booker Prize for his book Hijos de la midnight. The Satanic Verses has been Rushdie's most controversial story, being regarded as blasphemous to Muslim culture.
