No hay nada más importante en la actualidad que ver a nuestros hijos y adolescentes de la comunidad haciendo lo que llamaría "ocio productivo" pero si la comunidad no ofrece espacios para que los jóvenes puedan practicar algún deporte estamos condenados a distraernos y entretenernos con el teléfono y obviamente con la internet.

Las Mercedes es una de las cinco parroquias que comprende el Municipio Zamora y su cancha de usos múltiples deteriorada y abandonada desde hace varios años está sufriendo actualmente su rescate y su restauración para que se celebren dentro de poco actividades deportivas para esta gran comunidad que cuenta con una importante población, acá describiremos como va el proceso de restauración de la misma.

>There is nothing more important nowadays than to see our children and adolescents of the community doing what I would call "productive leisure" but if the community does not offer spaces for young people to practice some sport we are condemned to be distracted and entertained with the phone and obviously with the internet.

>Las Mercedes is one of the five parishes that comprise the Municipality of Zamora and its multipurpose court, deteriorated and abandoned for several years, is currently undergoing its rescue and restoration so that sports activities can be held soon for this large community that has a significant population, here we will describe how the process of restoring it is going.

# ¡Situación actual del espacio deportivo!
Como se puede observar en las imágenes cortesía del Instituto para la Recreación y el Deporte de Zamora  IMDERZA la cancha de usos múltiples de esta localidad tenía serios problemas de infraestructura entre los que podemos mencionar: El Techo que es de material de acerolit ya deteriorado, el suelo que es de cemento, la cerca perimetral también dañada y posteriormente la pintura que cubre los espacios físicos de la cancha.

Aparte un desmalezamiento perimetral porque la naturaleza estaba tomando estos espacios deportivos en su periodo de abandono.

># Current situation of the sports space!

>As can be seen in the images courtesy of the Institute for Recreation and Sports of Zamora IMDERZA the multipurpose court of this locality had serious infrastructure problems among which we can mention: The roof which is made of acerolit material already deteriorated, the floor which is made of cement, the perimeter fence also damaged and later the paint that covers the physical spaces of the court.

>Besides a perimeter weeding because nature was taking these sports spaces in their period of abandonment.

# Participación de la localidad y autoridades municipales
La localidad se ha comprometido en participar de este rescate y restauración del espacio deportivo por saber lo que significa para el desarrollo emocional y físico de la gran mayoría de niños y adolescentes que habitan en la parroquia.

Herreros, soldadores y albañiles dijeron presente en conjunto con el equipo de aseo y mantenimiento de la alcaldía del municipio Zamora quien aportó los materiales necesarios para dejar en pocas semanas operativa esta importante  cancha de usos múltiples.

># Participation of local and municipal authorities
>The locality has committed itself to participate in this rescue and restoration of the sports space because they know what it means for the emotional and physical development of the great majority of children and adolescents who live in the parish.

>Blacksmiths, welders and masons were present along with the Zamora municipality's cleaning and maintenance team, who provided the necessary materials to make this important multi-purpose court operational in a few weeks.

# Eventos, campeonatos y torneos 

La mayoría de las competiciones deportivas que se realizan hoy en el municipio suelen realizarse en el centro de la ciudad, en los espacios de la antigua Fundación del Niño por lo que IMDERZA viendo con preocupación la cantidad de clubes que existen en cada una de las disciplinas deportivas acudió al rescate de infraestructuras locales a fin de descongestionar los espacios antes mencionados.

La cancha de usos múltiples de Las Mercedes albergará a Las mercedes FUTSAL, equipo de la localidad, "TOROS" un equipo de baloncesto que también es la localidad entre muchos más que ahora no tendrán que salir a otros espacios porque ya van a contar con su propio espacio para la práctica y entrenamiento deportivo.

># Events, championships and tournaments 

>Most of the sports competitions that take place today in the municipality are usually held in the center of the city, in the spaces of the former Fundación del Niño so IMDERZA seeing with concern the number of clubs that exist in each of the sports disciplines came to the rescue of local infrastructure in order to decongest the aforementioned spaces.

>The multipurpose court of Las Mercedes will house Las Mercedes FUTSAL, local team, "TOROS" a basketball team that is also local among many more that now will not have to go to other spaces because they will now have their own space for sports practice and training.

# Opinión:
No puedo más que manifestar alegría y gratitud al ver este tipo de iniciativas que van en pro del rescate de las juventudes y de la promoción de las disciplinas deportivas más importantes de nuestras comunidades como lo son el futsal, el baloncesto y el voleibol.

Agradecido con IMDERZA en la figura de la docente de educación física Carlimer Rivero quien en conjunto con las autoridades municipales supervisa la obra que aún está en ejecución para pronto entregárselas a los habitantes con el compromiso de cuidarla y mantenerla operativa para todos los habitantes de Las Mercedes y zonas circunvecinas.
