Lately there have been many posts referring to retro games, either from the famous Sega consoles, or Nintendo consoles, I really like that because it certainly makes many people relive good and nostalgic memories, today it's my turn and I will present a game from the 90's completely ***CRAZY!***
# Carmageddon and its brutal style of gameplay
Developed by Stainless Games, Carmageddon was released on June 30, 1997, for different types of consoles and operating systems. The game came to the market to remake the simple racing games that everyone was used to, to always run to the finish line and win without doing anything else, it was for this reason that the different and striking style of gameplay called a lot to the users who were already tired of the same thing, and caught them in their new proposal.
Certainly in the 90's things were **completely different** from how we live today, everything was different, both the lifestyle and the mentality, something very important to note. Carmaggedon was a game that even though it was released in an era with a more open mentality than today and all that, it was in many controversies and was very criticized and hated by a huge amount of people... **Why?**
Carmaggedon stood out because it was a racing game, but also a combat game. The game as such did not have long weapons, or weapons that you could add to your vehicle, no. The main theme of the game was to destroy your vehicle. The main theme of the game was to destroy your opponents with your own vehicle. Carmageddon was also a pioneer in open world games, offering the possibility to explore the entire map at your leisure.

Some of our objectives are simply to win the race, destroy enemy cars, avoid being destroyed, but a much criticized objective that was added to this game is that we must murder pedestrians on the street, in order to get more points and victory. That was one of the things that made the game to be criticized and hated for many years, and thanks to that, the game was taken to different controversies and increased its fame. Carmageddon has a unique sense of humor, which is good for some people and bad for others.
Although Carmageddon is a racing game, the least we can do there is to compete in a race. Believe me! In this game we will face 100 players in a battle for the victory, being this something that will happen almost always. I mean when it's time to appear, we will be the last player and we must climb little by little until we reach the first place. Something that always happens is that the bots are very aggressive and are totally determined to try to destroy you, which is why I recited the comment when I started this paragraph, and is that instead of competing, we will try to kill each other against everyone.
Something very common and criticized in the game is the time given for races, because sometimes they can give us very little and we should be very afraid of that. Without the time we will automatically lose. If among all the enemies destroy your car, you can fix it by getting resources all over the race map, and running over pedestrians also comes to the fore at this point. To gain some extra time we can destroy our enemies or run over pedestrians without control. We can improve our vehicle with the money obtained from these actions, that can give us a great advantage towards the other rivals because if we kill many pedestrians we can take advantage of it.

Carmageddon has three different styles of gameplay and as you may already know, most Retro games are quite complicated, and never cease to surprise us. We have different characters to choose from and within the game itself there are some jokes and details a bit of bad taste, we could say black humor. If we are men we can choose **Max Damage** if we are women **Die Anna**, each character has words that characterize them and can be a little delicate for some people.
In Carmageddon we have different cars to choose from, and also some pretty important details, such as effects in the middle of the races, and cops that will make your life totally impossible to the point of wanting to commit suicide (no kidding). If we are able to defeat the police tank we will have the chance to play with him, but yes, defeating him is not easy because by God he is a damn police tank man. I like that its gameplay style is also deathmatch, that certainly makes it a game completely full of action and adventure everywhere.
# What were the graphics like in the 90's?
With the retro consoles in full swing, something very important that they sought to improve was the graphics of the following games, of course they wanted to prove that their game was better than the other in that way. Graphically we are in front of a **16bits** title, that is to say its effects, graphics and details are not completely bad, but they are not the best either. Let's keep in mind that we are in the year 1997 when they decided to create the game, one of its quite relevant details is the effects when running over a pedestrian, as we will see the blood totally pixelated splashing around.
We even have the first person view, it's something completely crazy knowing that we are in the year 1997 and we have a deathmatch style game in our face.

We have a small variety of maps, but it's not really a problem. We have different styles of maps, whether it's in the mountains, in the city, in the desert, and so on. But they are quite extensive and each race is different, every time we start a new race we will have different challenges and missions in the race, which makes Carmageddon does not become a repetitive and boring game. An interesting detail to note is that the names of the levels are mostly expressions and references to heavy humor, something that not everyone supports but certainly gives a personal touch to your delivery. I love that detail!
# Conclusion
Carmageddon is a simply wonderful game, not suitable for any type of person. It has a fantastic black humor that will make us enjoy the experience and we also have enough hours to enjoy it, because if we know the game is not extremely long, but it offers an acceptable duration. Those of us who have already played this title should know that they have already released several continuations, which I think is fantastic because they are trying to give life to a worldwide classic.

Últimamente han habido muchos posts referente a los juegos retro, ya sea de las famosas consolas de Sega, o las consolas de Nintendo, me gusta mucho eso ya que sin duda hace revivir a muchas personas buenos y nostàlgicos recuerdos, hoy me toca a mí y les presentaré un juego de los años 90 completamente LOCO!
# Carmageddon y su brutal estilo de juego
Desarrollado por Stainless Games, Carmageddon fue estrenado el 30 de junio del año 1997, para distintos tipos de consolas y sistemas operativos. El juego llegó al mercado para rehacer los simples juegos de carreras a los que todo el mundo estaba acostumbrado, a siempre correr hacia la meta y ganar sin realizar más nada, fue por ello que el diferente y llamativo estilo de juego llamó mucho a los usuarios que ya estaban cansado de lo mismo, y los atrapó en su nueva propuesta.
Ciertamente en la época de los años 90 las cosas eran **completamente diferente** a cómo vivimos hoy en día, cada cosa era diferente, tanto el estilo de vida cómo la mentalidad, algo muy importante que acotar. Carmaggedon fue un juego que apesar de que fue estrenado en una época con la mentalidad más abierta que la actual y todo eso, estuvo en muchas controversias y fue muy criticado y odiado por una inmensa cantidad de personas... **¿Por qué?**
Carmaggedon se destacaba mucho ya que era un juego de carreras, pero a la vez también de combate. El juego cómo tal no contaba con armas largas, o armas que podías agregarle a tu vehículo, no. La temática principal del juego era destruír a tus oponentes con tu propio vehículo. También Carmageddon fue pionero en los juegos de mundo abierto, ofreciendo la posibilidad de explorar todo el mapa a placer.

Algunos de nuestros objetivos son simplemente ganar la carrera, destruir los coches enemigos, evitar ser destruido, pero un objetivo muy criticado que fue agregado a este juego es que debemos asesinar peatones en la calle, para así conseguir más puntos y la victoria. Esa fue una de las cosas por las que el juego fue bastante criticado y odiado por bastantes años, y gracias a ello lo llevaron a diferentes polémicas e incrementó su fama. Carmageddon cuenta con un singular sentido del humor, cosa que para algunas personas es bueno y para otras malo.
A pesar de que Carmageddon es un juego de carreras lo menos que podemos hacer allí es competir en una carrera. Creánme! En este juego nos enfrentaremos a 100 jugadores en una batalla por la victoria, siendo esto algo que pasará casi que siempre. Me refiero a la hora de aparecer, seremos último jugador y debemos ir escalando poco a poco hasta llegar a el primer lugar. Algo que siempre ocurre es que los bots son muy agresivos y van totalmente decididos a intentar destruirte, por lo cuál recité el comentario cuándo empecé este parrafo, y es que en vez de competir, nos intentearemos asesinar en contra de todos.
Algo muy común y criticado en el juego es el tiempo dado por carreras, ya que a veces nos pueden dar realmente muy poco y a eso debemos temerle mucho. Ya que sin el tiempo perderemos automáticamente. Si entre todos los enemigos destruyen tu coche, puedes arreglarlo consiguiendo recursos por todo el mapa de la carrera, y atropellar a los peatones también sale a relucir en este punto. Y es que para ganar algo de tiempo extra podemos destruir a nuestros enemigos o atropellar peatones sin control. Podemos mejorar nuestro vehículo con el dinero obtenido de estas acciones, eso nos puede dar una gran ventaja hacia los demás rivales porque si matamos a muchos peatones podemos aprovecharnos de ello.

Carmageddon tiene tres dieferentes estilos de juego y cómo ya lo deben saber, la gran mayoria de jugos Retro son bastantemente complicados, y no dejan de sorprendernos. Tenemos diferentes personajes a escoger y dentro del mismo juego existen algunos chistes y detalles un poco de mal gustos, podriamos decir que de humor negro. Sí somos hombres podemos elegir a **Max Damage** si somos mujeres a **Die Anna**, cada personaje cuenta con palabras que los caracterizan y pueden ser un poco delicadas para algunas personas.
En Carmageddon contamos con diferentes autos para elegir, y también algunos detalles bastante importantes, cómo por ejemplo efectos en medio de las carreras, y policías que te harán la vida totalmente imposible hasta llegar al punto de querer suicidarte (no es broma). Si somos capaces de derrotar al tanque de la policía tendremos la posibilidad de jugar con él, pero eso sí, derrotarlo no es nada fácil ya que por dios es un maldito tanque de la policía hombre. Me gusta que su estilo de juego sea también deathmatch, eso sin duda lo convierte en un juego completamente lleno de acción y aventuras por doquier.
# ¿Cómo eran los gráficos de los años 90?
Con las consolas retro en pleno apogeo, algo muy importante que buscaban mejorar era el apartado gráfico de los siguientes juegos, claro ellos querían demostrar que su juego era mejor que el otro de esa forma. Gráficamente estamos ante un título de **16bits**, o sea sus efectos, gráficos y detalles no son del todo malos, pero tampoco son los mejores. Tengamos en cuenta que estamos en el año 1997 cuándo decidieron crear el juego, uno de sus detalles bastante relevantes es los efectos a la hora de atropellar a algún peatón, ya que veremos la sangre totalmente pixeleada salpicar por allí.
Inclusivemente contamos con la visión de primera persona, es algo completamente de locos sabiendo que estamos en el año 1997 y tenemos a un juego estilo deathmatch en nuestra cara.

Contamos con una poca variedad de mapas, pero realmente no es problema alguno. Tenemos diferentes estilos de mapas, ya sea en las montañas, en la ciudad, en el desierto, etc. Pero son bastante extensos y cada carrera es diferente, cada vez a la hora de empezar alguna nueva carrera contaremos con diferentes retos y misiones en la carrera, lo cuál hace que Carmageddon no se convierta en un juego repetitivo y aburrido. Un detalle bastante interesante de acotar es que los nombres de los niveles en su gran mayoría son expresiones y referencias de humor pesado, algo que no todo el mundo soporta pero que sin duda le da el toque personal a su entrega. A mí me encanta ese detalle!
# Conclusión
Carmageddon es un juego simplemente maravilloso, no apto para cualquier tipo de persona. Tiene un fantástico humor negro que nos hará disfrutar de la experiencia y también tenemos bastantes horas para disfrutarlo, ya que si bien sabemos el juego no es sumamente largo, pero nos ofrece una aceptable duración. Los que ya hayamos jugada este título debemos saber que ya han estrenado varias continuaciones, lo cuál me parece fantástico ya que intentan darle vida a un clásico mundial.
