What AI Agents Have You Used (Built)?
More so than the regular chat AIs (specialized or not), the focus has shifted for a while on AI agents. I can't believe I call LLMs "regular chats" only a few years after they've taken the world by storm...

Compared to LLMs, AI agents are active and autonomous once their tasks are set, very good for tasks automation. They can also adapt based on context and learn, unlike LLMs, which may take in contextual information, but won't evolve beyond their training (which can be updated). AI agents are also given control to certain elements and interact with their surroundings where they operate.

LLMs are better used passively, based on prompts the user asks, whereas AI agents, once being given the instructions, can be set loose and operate on their own. Note that the AI agents don't have ethical concerns, which... could be an issue?

Sometimes AI agents use LLMs as their "brain", to be able to better understand requests (the LLM translates user prompts into a language that the AI agent can understand).

I haven't taken as much interest into AI agents yet, although they are definitely useful for different tasks we do regularly, not to mention automating business tasks. But businesses have already started paying growing amounts to replace their old processes with ones that have an AI component. I've seen some stats recently (I don't remember where), and it said those who started to use AI have a significant (measured) competitive advantage compared to businesses that don't.

Of course... all this will likely lead to massive job losses as even AI lead researchers say, despite this not being in their best interest.

Ok... back to AI agents. I couldn't bring myself to DO more about that. I once joined a platform where we could create AI agents. I think at least something was for free, where most options are paid. But I wasn't motivated to look further than that for some reason.

I know even on Hive there are at least a few AI agents already functional. Inleo has a few.

Have you tried out AI agents? Created or had one created for your needs or purchased one and used it? What for, if you want to share... Maybe that'll give me the nudge to look into it...

Interesting reflection! It's wild how fast, the conversation moved from being amazed by LLMs to exploring fully autonomous AI agents, The potential is huge especially for automating tasks but the ethical concerns are real too, I haven’t tried building one myself yet, but I’m definitely curious. Maybe it’s time to dive deeper.

Hmm, they can make decisions on their own, learn from conversations and feedback (so they "upgrade" themselves), but it's true, they are rather focused than generalized.

Technically, there aren't many domains where I would personally use an AI agent right now. Maybe testing it in the financial / crypto field for trading since they have proven themselves already?
