We all do it differently and there's certainly nothing wrong with curating. I guess, for those with really small vote value, a comment can have more impact. I remember when I had only a thousand or so staked, three years ago, I'd actually apologise for my vote being so pathetic and would leave a really good comment...It was always appreciated more than a vote. These days I do both mostly.

It doesn't matter how a person supports the community, as long as they do, although I enjoy seeing comments on my posts...If no one commented on me I'd be gone to be honest.

Hey mate, great comment, more of a post really; I'm glad you took the time, it shall not go unrewarded. 

Your numbers are pretty good still, and I remember discussing it with you that the goal merely offers a little motivation, something to aim at; If you don't hit it exactly I'm pretty sure you'll come very close, and that's still a great achievement. If you hadn't set the goal, put a focus on it, the chances are that you would be nowhere near where you're at now. 

I like what you said about *looking at things people are willing to share*. That's really about all it is right? A bunch of people sharing stuff and looking at other stuff other people have shared. Same with any social media. Posts don't need to be complex scientific essays about how to unravel the billions of cells that are interlinked with trillions of connections within the human brain; Just what every day people are doing and thinking, and others being interested enough to make a comment. It's not that difficult to conceive is it?

I like also what you say about *enjoying reading*. Again, it shouldn't feel like work, but *relaxation*; That's when people will begin to deepen their experience.

I think, as people that have been around for a while, it's our responsibility to offer some direction, lead by example as I said in the post, and also support others. That's not necessarily monetary support although there's that aspect also, but through commenting and encouraging others to connect and build relationships. It's not our job or duty, but each and every hiver should feel some motivation to support others, not just themselves or their immediate group either, but everyone. 

We can't all agree on everything, will never all get along perfectly, and sometimes the written word can lead to misunderstandings, but if we all start from a position of respect, humility and kindness I think we can make something great happen. Maybe I'm being naïve? (Not something I would be called in real life)...Let's call it buoyant about the future and *invested* in helping it be valuable for all - Sounds better I think. :)

I know for a fact that many people enjoy your comments and are grateful to see them - I mean me also here. They are valuable and interesting, pertinent and measured and I welcome them. I appreciate your involvement in the #weekend-engagement topic and when you drop in on my posts which is often. I also see you commenting around the place too, and always nod a silent *well done* when I see one on a small user. It's such a valuable comment when placed on someone that may never get much other than auto-comments. 

I'll do another post about my numbers on the 31st of December, and see where I got...I should probably revise my target upwards but will leave it...2020 has sucked major ass and so having the small win, attaining my comment-goal early, will be welcome. :) 

P.s. For the first time ever I curangeled a comment, this one. I felt it was deserving.

You've made some good points, not least of which is the time factor. Yeah, it takes time and in modern society when people are mostly time-poor it's something that needs to be thought about. Clearly you enjoy it so you make the time and *hive* commensurate to the time you have available. It's important to prioritise also of course, which you're also doing. 

Having said that though, I see people flicking their phones o that endless Facebook feed, barely staying long enough to *actually absorb* anything, passing over the information, images or whatever in an almost zombie-like state...And they call that time well spent. 

Hive is different, *can be different* if a person chooses it to be. Like you say, engage with ones' *friends*, maybe add in a little extra engagement with others outside one's own group...It's a flow of information and a deeper connection to people around the world than the superficial nature of Facebook or the other social medias. 

So, yep, you'll find the time if you want to. I have mates who do many things, and never understood how they could fit children into their lives. Once the rug-rats popped out though...Yeah, they still do those other things *and fit the kids in*. Human's are adaptable. We'll find the time for what we value. 

As long as you enjoy hive then it's the place to be. I think I said in another comment here, *if I stop enjoying it, I'll stop doing it*, and I mean that. There'll be no idiotic announcement post, I'll just cease to be here.

I don't think anyone would dare challenge your commitment to engaging on hive, and I know it's not done for votes, it's a genuine need to connect, and converse I think and that comes out in the comments and replies you make. 

I'll be keen to see your numbers  because I reckon you will have pushed them up; I see how much you comment, I run into them all the time when I'm out and about and they're always of good quality. I hope you post some good numbers, pretty sure you will. 

I enjoy posting and when I don't have time it's generally the commenting that slows, sort of like now actually, I've had many other things to focus on lately and my commenting is down. It'll ramp up though, as time permits. Still, having said that I comment a lot and enjoy doing so, as do you. 

Price? Yep, who really cares, it'll take care of itself.

I'm glad to see you've been joining in with the #weekend-engagement topic and have noted you've used the *engage the weekend* community also which is nice. Thank you. 

As you have learned, you don't need to be *charming*, just friendly and open to meeting new people; The rest will take care of itself. We are all the same really, just people, with the same fears of social interaction or shyness...But on my #weekend-engagement topics everyone is friendly and respectful; I'd not tolerate anything else, and so you're always welcome. I think you will find that mostly people right across hive are like that with people that interact on their posts; To be otherwise would be counter-productive.

What I can't track is how doing what I do has pushed my account forwards...I mean I know what my account looks like, but I can never compare it against the *me who didn't do what I have done*, you know? So, I'll never know the statistics however I am very certain that if I hadn't proceeded in manner in which I have done my account would look vastly different and I'd not have the relationships I do. 

I know what works, and that's engagement.

Thanks mate, I enjoy it and so keep it up. 

For me I just sort of find something interesting about it and comment about that, leave an opinion, ask a question or maybe tell a story that may be relevant. It's no different here than it would be in real life, I try to *listen*, understand and engage with relevance. I just see it as a *conversation*. 

It's hard to define really as some of my comments are long and some short, some serious and some funny. It's situational. 

I just suggest to people that they give it a go, add relevance and interest and let the rest take care of itself.
