Passion comes easily to me and I inject a lot of it into my life. It's enthusiasm, excitement, drive and ambition, showing grit and determination and accepting that *the only bad failure is the failure one doesn't learn and move on from*. Passion is a zest for life, living it the best I can, the pursuit of happiness and having ownership of my thoughts and actions and the responsibility and discipline to do them even when things get difficult. It's about showing my partner how much I care, being the sort of man who can protect her, make her laugh...and other things. It's about doing anything for my niece and nephew and wanting to help them find passion and a bright future for themselves. It's about finding the time for people who need my help or protection, doing difficult things despite knowing I'll be judged for them, and it's about living to my concept of honour and integrity as I see them. Passion is about waking up early and going to bed late - wringing the most from the day - and passion is about celebrating when I win and re-evaluating when I do not. It's about having manners and courtesy, being a gentleman, but knowing when action and a heavy hand may be needed and passion is about knowing what I like and don't like and doing more of the former than the latter. It's about respect, truth and courage, it's about forgiveness, myself and others. Passion rules my life, it whispers to me in the dark, spurs me on when I feel like slowing down or stopping when adversity comes and it helps me lean forward into life knowing that's the only way to get the most from it - the only way to ensure that when I die I will do so knowing I designed and created my life, that I was the architect of my life. Passion is about laughter when things are funny and the ability to laugh in the face of fear and uncertainty and push forward nonetheless and passion is feeling fear but standing resolute to face it regardless. It's standing tall when others cower, stepping forward when others step back and passion is the desire to improve each and every day *never resting on my laurels* or saying, *that's good enough.* Passion is a celebration of life and everything it encompasses and passion is knowing that when I'm at my last breath I'll be able to say I lived well.

I wonder about others though, do they inject it and if so how? What does it mean to them and how has it impacted their lives. I pity those that don't have it and applaud those who have it. I believe that without passion there is no real life, that's not living, that's going through this world... empty. Passion is what fills the soul and drives it to more and more and more. Those who have no passion live without more considering this horrible life.

On the other hand, I call this indescribable force that arises within me passion, for myself, for life, for nature, for improvement and improvement. New projects, ideas... my head is exploding! Sometimes I want to do more than time allows and I give 100% of myself, that's passion!!!!

Without getting into a full post, how do I inject passion into my life? For me, it’s about being a husband and father, being present for my family every day, through the highs and lows, the tough lessons, and the small, everyday moments.

It's about diving into the deep end without hesitation, struggling and swimming until I reach the surface, knowing that in doing so, I might make things a little easier for my kids, not so much that they won’t face their own struggles, because those are essential, but enough so they don’t have to tackle the same challenges I did.

It’s also about pouring passion into my teaching, doing everything I can to support students who are often overlooked, while understanding when to leave that passion at work. When I step out of the classroom, that time belongs to my family.

Ultimately, I inject passion into my life through my family. My immediate family shaped my core values and made me who I am today, and I plan to instill those same values in my kids.

I want them to fully immerse myself in whatever they’re passionate about, whether it’s tennis, woodworking, gardening, engineering, whatever it may be. I want to ensure they go after it with everything they’ve got, so they don’t have any regrets. I don’t want them to look back years from now and wonder, “What if I had tried harder? What if I hadn’t given up? What if I had just stuck with it?” I want them to chase their dreams without holding back, something I wish I had done more of in my own life.

Being *present* (I mean 100% present) in one's life certainly is a good way to be passionate about it. So many people are passengers though right? 

What I like about reading people's opinions is how they differ but have the same things at the core. Also, I like it when a person can pump out a heap of words *with meaning and substance* rather than fail to even define and clarify what passion means to them, or any other topic I may have suggested. 

It seems like you can clearly define it and I bet you didn't even need to think about it too hard right?

Being completely passionate about my family comes naturally. However, being fully dedicated to other things was a lesson I learned after missing out on several opportunities because I didn't fully immerse myself in them

I must admit, I lost a great deal of passion after retiring. Not sure where or how I lost it, probably when I lsot my sense of purpose. Working on injecting it back these days and it feels good to feel some of that "passion juice" flowing again. It makes life a lot more brighter for sure.

It happens to us all mate, it's just that some never admit to it which I feel is unproductive. It's easier to address, rectify and improve a situation we've admitted to be in. A sense of purpose can be found in so many places, as you now know, but it can be difficult to admit it's been lost (misplaced) in the first instance. Once a decision is made though, steps are taken and those steps build momentum. 

So, inject that shit into your life man, feel it flow into you and you'll feel much better and life will be as you say, *brighter.*

Hi Galen, when you write about your experiences and about work, passion overflows the text. This is a subject that has me confused, not just now, but for years. 

When my father left I was left literally empty, for two years I abandoned my profession. I had no desire to see anyone. What got me out of the well, I am not very clear, but I think it had more to do with obligation, with doing the right thing, than with passion for my work. I think what pushed me out of the hole was an obligation I acquired from my parents: to do the right thing.

It's not that I don't have passions, I'm passionate about reading, just today I bought a book that I've wanted to read for a long time, my friends, my family, a little bit of social networks. But I still think that what really moves me is to be able to live up to my parents and grandparents. To be fair to them and all that they invested in me.

Maybe this, which is still a tribute to those who took care of me and educated me, is also a passion.

Here I leave it...

Even now that I'm pursuing something for myself I somehow doubt on the driving point that I have in order to continue this degree that I'm getting at, I think it's nice to have passion since it'll help you achieve your goals no matter how hard it is, I just hope that someday I'll be able to find something that I truly want to be compassionate about

It is importsnt to live life on our own terms. Atleast there is Noone to blame for the consequences and we live each day with whatever way we like to spend. The passion alwsys leads to more fairer way.
