My goal for this month is to put more effort into my post, join contests, make valid comments on other people's posts, build good relationships and learn new things.

I would be a month old on this blockchain by 22nd September 2022.

I know I'm not entitled to anything, but I just wanna be the best I can be.

Seriously, you're a commenting master. 64,500 beats my 7.7k by a shameful eternity. And I'm even a week older than you on the chain. 🙈

Aside from effort and time, what I learned in this post is how important it is to build connections and relationships through giving meaningful comments to other people's blogs . A meaningful comment (for me) means that someone is reading the whole blog and was able to connect to the writer. 

Amazingly, you have written 64,500 comments in your 5 years of stay. That value may not be enough to describe and measure how passionate you are about the blockchain, but you have set the bar so high sir @galenkp. 👏👏👏 Congratulations on your success! Hope we can somehow follow your footprints. 👣

It's certainly difficult to get out there and do these things consistently but one of the things that I've learned is that consistency is key. Not posting an image with 5 words and calling it a day but putting some effort into it and that goes over well over time and with a little luck. I've had posts I put well over an hour of effort in not get diddly squat for rewards but that's the gamble we roll with posting. Some does great, others aint shit! 

I checked out a user today that's been visiting my posts often lately but not saying a whole lot besides the normal "cool post!!" with a few emojis. I was a little annoyed by it at first but then by the third day I decided to give him a look since I had a few minutes to spare and saw that he was putting some posts out there, not the best out there but he was investing everything he had to grow his Hive stake! I was like hmm let me see and chat with the fella. Turns out he's Spanish and not great at English so a few pointers and I think he will be doing a lot better.

My point is that I've gotten both sides now of the "cool" type comments. I give em a look and see if they're legit and maybe floundering or if they're a little shit trying to rob the reward pool. Thankfully this one was the former in today's example! 

Fucker.

One of the first times I dropped you a line was about five years ago probably, you wrote something about choosing the right tool for the job, remember that one? What I said was, *if you can't fix it with a hammer, it ain't broke* and you got all pissed off at me. I forget what you said exactly but I ended up explaining how I should've tagged satire. = } Then we laughed, yata yata. *Seems like yesterday.*

Whaddup G? Found <a href=https://peakd.com/hive-149133/@rake43/iovtucnw>this</a> dude a couple weeks ago. Signed up some months ago but has only posted a few times. I'm a big fan of street art, he's recording the whole process and posting to 3speak—quality stuff.

I'm genuinely thankful that I have been able to meet everyone here. Thus, reading blogs of users who have been in the blockchain for so long gave me an idea of how much important it is to take seriously building relationships, and reputations, and leaving meaningful comments.

In your 5 years and 3 months using the blockchain, I know you met a lot of people. I'm glad that you really value your time here and considering newbies as well. Advance congratulations on reaching 81 reputation sir @galenkp. Your blog is an inspiration.

While I may not be an old user, I am still close to celebrating my one year in hive, which has been, if I'm honest, the best change my life could've possibly had. 

I've been here, and have been on and off with posting, but for some reason I can never leave this place alone. Cause it has given me a very closely knitted family, and I doubt I'd have ever met them if I weren’t here. But the main reason why I still am here is not these people.

It's the freedom of speech. Literally.  

I've never felt more free anywhere else while sharing my thoughts and stories. Even if they are stragnant and of lower quality, I can still post them here. And even if no one reads them, It still gets to live on forever in this blockchain, as a mark of my growth. I don't think I can find anyplace else that will give me something like that. Which is truly something special.

You gave me that exact advice and while I'm nowhere even remotely close to your commenting prowess, I can see how well it works when you apply the effort. 

A comment like "cool" I think is actually offensive to the person who wrote the post because it doesn't show any effort was made to read the post and looks like somebody from Twitter has migrated here, the stark contrast between Hive and conventional social media is very plain to see when you come across that. 

I doff my hat to your 5 and a quarter years, that's so brilliant and the fact that you just keep going amazes a lot of people, you really are the example of what a diamond is and what we should all be striving for. We may do it at a slightly different pace, but we all want the same thing. I hope to be able to look back after 5 years and feel the same way as you do.

100% Legit, it's not that you write and leave or wait for reward. I am new and also in blogging. Sharing thoughts have always a boundaries especially that language wasn't the mother tongue we have. But continuous learning is the keys for everything. Diamond cannot be pick on the ground, instead be a miner, with efforts and dedication. Not just a diamond but all the gems will easily be in our hands. Another motivating blog as always...

I don't see that as much as I use too, someone asking someone else to come vote them.  When I have seen it, I always wondered how many times that had worked with anyone. I don't know the answer to that.  I would be guessing nearly never, but what do I know?  I often wondered if the asker had any idea how taboo that was and guessed they didn't.

I was lucky when I came on that two of my friends were already here and I was exposed to some of their friends in the beginning.  It still didn't mean I didn't have to pay some dues, but it was certainly better than dropping in here cold turkey and trying to start out not knowing anyone.  I have only come so far, but I do not post daily and sometimes skip a week or more, so I never expected more than I have over the time I have been here.

Sometimes you have to give a while, before you get something back.  It is a slow build and takes patience and being active.

Well I came along here to say I only got home from a super busy day an hour ago and loadshedding starts again in ten minute (fuck you, by the way, Eskom) and we are on level 6 tonight apparently which means I'll be annoying the neighbors with my guitar by candlelight again and still never learning to play the thing anyway.

Also... then I missed the #weekend-experiences deadline and I even made an #LMAC as the featured image so I could double up on the posts and the deadlines and impress you with my collage making prowess.

But I was going to share an old book I wrote, which would actually have been cheating as I wasn't actually reading it but it's cute so I thought fuck that I'll do it anyway... but then my overdeveloped super ego kicked in and I thought, "Nope. I can't do that. It would be cheating and I'd have to tell everyone and then I wouldn't maybe win and, as it turns out, I do like winning... who knew?

So then I came here to say sorry I never made the deadline... because I really loved the prompt... and I found this instead.

Which is why I love Hive btw. I get lost on adventures and find my way to more... and more.

I remember a post of yours, not sure which one it was, but I still remember - I was reading through the comments like I usually do (a lot of them are really entertaining 😄) and somebody commented and I was like *what the hell does that have to do with your post, why would you even comment?!*. 

People are weird. Well, I honestly think it is about the money which - let's face it - is very important in our lives but - to give up integrity and yourself for it? Well, if you're in a really tight spot, you might have to do things you normally wouldn't but considering that the person commenting has a smartphone or computer = they're not in a tight spot, right?

Anyhow, back from my travels but not back yet at blogging, just reading. Hope you're having a good start to the week.

I have about 2 months left till I complete one whole year here on Hive/PeakD, what a journey it has been, time just passed by so quick. 

To be very honest, I didn't expect it go this well. I've got to know countless people here on the chain, from the many different communities, I even met some of them in real life too, people who are now quite an important part of my life. 

I always knew I was going to build a fairly strong network, I always have been successful when it came to "making a mark" in every group and community that I've engaged with, even locally in real life. Yet, for some reason I didn't expect to meet and get to know this many people here on Hive; I guess I had that thought because most of the users here are from foreign lands, which is why it seemed like a difficult task at first. 

But slowly as I explored a bit more and engaged with a lot of like-minded people, it all became a bit easier, and soon enough it became quite an "effortless" journey. 

A long way to go still, a lot more to learn and to improve on. I've got a fair list of plans set within Hive right now, goals that I'd like to reach one day, but slow and steady though, no hurry. All I can say is, I'm in here for the long run. 🥃

I think a lot of people don't like leaving comments out of shyness (talking to strangers is hard yo) but there is very definite laziness in some, ain't nobody got time for that and everyone else is an arse for not recognising my brilliance kinda thing XD

Comments like "cool" and "nice post" are kinda bland but I guess sometimes people just want to let you know that they liked your work and aren't particularly eloquent, I have actually known some people (my sons included) who really struggle to write down their thoughts for various reasons (eldest has improved drastically, youngest is still struggling and there is a chance he will continue to do so forever).

I don't think I will ever understand the logic behind vote begging.
