We have to deal with all sorts of people in life, good, bad and in between. In my younger days I used to be a little more judgemental, or more correctly, *quicker to judge*, than I am now. These days I tend to wait until I have more facts prior to assessing people and whilst I get less *peopley* the older I become, I find greater value in people, the ones I like anyway, and enjoy the company of those people more than I probably would have in the past. 

Occasionally I come across a **repellant person** though and whilst my *facts before judgement* ethos still exists its *fuse*, for lack of a better word, is shorter, tolerance a little lower. I came across one such individual a few days ago.

I recently wrote a post about taking one of my friends out to the property on which I cull feral animals for the farmer. This is done with a firearm. To gain some perspective you probably have to read the post however for all you short-cutters out there the following will put you in the picture. I shoot feral animals to keep their numbers down. I was vegetarian but now I'm not. I took a vegetarian [former vegan] out to the farm to see what I do and the process, and...The repellant person I came across the other day is vegan. *That* should be enough perspective.

A few weeks ago I started putting my Discord thing at the bottom of my posts right under my life-ethos of *Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default.* A couple of new people sent me a message or two but I really didn't get much additional activity on there at all. I added it to my posts so people could ask questions about my posts if they were so inclined. **Anyway...It lit up a few days back with a rather lengthy comment by a Steemit user who thought their life would be so much more complete by unleashing a disgusting diatribe of hate-speech on me and my practice of shooting guns, killing animals and eating meat.**

Because I am a gentleman I will not name the user, despite *really* wanting to. They are entitled to their opinion, as baseless as it may be, and whilst they would have been better-served to comment on the actual blog for all to see and with some intelligence and balanced thought, they did not and I have to respect their decision,  if not the person themselves.

Now, a little background...I have been picked on and vilified from a very young age, pretty-much from kindergarten age. Mostly because I was from a mixed-race marriage and born in a small country town back in 1970, and because people can be assholes...So, I'm not unaccustomed to name calling. As I got older it slowed down a little but even now I am subject to it here and there. It doesn't really bother me too much I guess, although it's a little disappointing I'll admit. I don't get hung up on it though. 

So, this particular user let rip with some pretty wild accusations and considering they don't know me, other than the fact *"I shoot guns, kill animals and eat meat"* it's somewhat surprising although I'll be honest, it's the sort of behaviour I expect from vegans. I know, it's a generalisation, however when it comes to championing their cause I've never found one who can calmly and logically argue their case. Furthermore, I don't really *care* about their case, or the fact they are vegan. *Who gives a shit* is my general feeling on that front. Vegans would be better served to simply shut the fuck up and eat their lettuce in silence. No one cares that you're *vegan*, vegans, least of all me...But you *care* about what I do right? Oh, you think I am *disgusting* for eating meat? Like I give a flying fuck. 

Ok, back to my vegan *"hater"*...

This person made a few claims about me and considering they were not willing to post it on my original blog for all to see I thought I'd share them with you here. Below you'll see their original comment (maybe edited slightly) and my response. My responses are completely honest and truthful ok? Keep in mind I have not sent these responses via Discord, I simply ignored the user there, preferring to respond here. You'll read it first here! *Breaking news-style.* Here goes:

**Vegan statement**: You are a carnivorous filthy c^nt!
**Me**: Yes, I eat meat and so *am* carnivorous. I bathe at least twice a day though, so no, I am not filthy, although have been known to have a dirty mind on occasions...Who hasn't? No, I am not a vagina [c^nt]; I have legs and arms, a head, shoulders etc. Pretty-much your typical human being.

**Vegan statement**: You are vindictive murderer!
**Me**: I have done things in my life of which I am not proud of but murder is not one of them. Yes, I have been vindictive in my time, I am not the *turn the other cheek* sort of person generally, however I would not describe myself as vindictive these days and have certainly had not reason to be so against an animal. I believe in an *eye-for-an-eye justice*, but that's not vindictiveness in my opinion.

**Vegan statement**: You must hate the environment, not care for the planet and what will be left for your children.
**Me**: I don't hate the environment although I don't hold much hope for its repair or recuperation, I admit. I don't think we'll be around for a long time and hopefully the planet regenerates when human-kind is gone. I have no children as my wife and I cannot have them despite the fact that we love children and wanted them so much. Thank's for bringing up that hurtful fact although you weren't to know I guess. It pierced right to my heart, but that's ok, I know you don't care.

**Vegan statement**: I hope someone shoots and kills your whole family!
**Me**:  I don't really know what to say here. I have three brothers and a sister, two nieces, one who is two and a half, and a nephew who is six months old. I have an aunt, an elderly father who doesn't often know who am am as he suffers with dementia and a wife. For you to wish them all dead because I eat meat and shoot feral animals seems a little excessive and somewhat contradictory to your *right to life* / *anti-murder* ethos. I'm a little confused, but not surprised your hate-speech included this little gem.

**Vegan statement**: You will never know the benefits of a life without meat!
**Me**: I was raised vegetarian until the age of seventeen and a half when I left home to find my own paths in life. So...Nuff said.

**Vegan statement**: If only you could hear your food scream as you ate it!
**Me**: Umm, I'm lost for words here...So you think I eat animals *whilst they are still alive*? With fur and all? It must be terrible to be a vegan and going through life thinking that people do that. No, all the meat I eat is completely and totally dead and does not scream anymore. 

**Vegan statement**: You are a redneck, low class, ignorant scumbag who doesn't deserve happiness and I hope you die!
**Me**: My neck, and the rest of me, is a lovely rich mocha-colour. I was picked on because I wasn't white but these days mocha is in vogue, or so I'm told. I don't go red. I came from a humble family that didn't have much to spare and certainly not the privileged upper class. I have tertiary education, am widely read, have travelled all over the world, have the ability to discourse on many topics and with all walks of life and am open to other people's opinions and perspectives. If that makes me ignorant then fine. Scumbag? I've done some scumbag things in my day and am not proud of them but I am honest, abide by the law, am loyal and apply ownership and responsibility to my life. I am courteous and have manners. Maybe those things qualify me as scum but that's for other's to decide, as you have. I have had great sorrow in my life and like most will have more I'm sure. I have also had tremendous highs, great success and amazing moments...It's those that keep me pushing forward. You hope I die? Well, of course I'll die...We all do.

Ok, so I think I'll end it there. There's more of course but I don't really want it to see the light of day and perpetuate the hate-speech and ignorance of this vegan person as it's really just hateful, small-minded and disgusting dialogue...Typically human.

I really hope the user sees this post and recognises themselves in the hate-speech above. I'd love for them to comment on this blog too. Whilst I don't value their opinion, or feel that they could ever discourse with anything close to rational civility, I think it would be nice for them to have their say on the blockchain for all to see. 

So, if this is you...I  ask you to please feel free to comment with impunity. If you need some more ammunition for your hate-speech please attack my race as I am from a mixed-race marriage. I am a man so maybe vilify me for being sexist and I've lost loved ones to cancer, including my mum, so you may want to have a crack at that also. 

We live in an odd world and I sometimes struggle to make sense of it. **People like the user above whittle away at my tolerance for people...No, they hack away at it, and is it any wonder I shy away from most people?** It's judgemental of me of course as I tend to *expect the worst in people until they prove differently* and I wish I didn't do that; But I do, willingly. I wonder about the sanity of a person who wishes my whole family dead simply because I don't adhere to their vegan ways...It reminds me of others throughout history who committed genocide and other hateful, disgusting acts simply because their beliefs were not held or followed by others; You know who they are, I don't need to mention them. I guess they did what they thought was right at the time, probably like the vegan who attacked me on Discord.

As I said, I haven't responded to the vegan on Discord, nor will I. Instead I simply wanted to answer them on the blockchain for all to see and to invite them to respond in kind. I hope they do although I have a feeling they will not. Still, they might make my day and chime in with some more hate. Who knows huh?
