Está frase la hemos escuchado infinidades de veces, pero ¿cómo podemos hacerlo? Muchas veces nos cohibimos por muchas razones, tiempo, dinero, creatividad y paren de contar. Pero lo que no sabemos es que no necesitamos de tantos recursos para regalarle un día hermoso a nuestros mayores. Solo necesitamos la iniciativa, el deseo y mucho amor para hacerlo.  

>We have heard this phrase countless times, but how can we do it? Many times, we are self-conscious for many reasons, time, money, creativity and stop counting. But what we do not know is that we do not need so many resources to give a beautiful day to our elders. We just need the initiative, the desire and a lot of love to do it.  

El domingo tenía una actividad especial en casa, y quisimos compartir ese momento familiar con nuestra querida Rosa, ya en otros post les he hablado de ella, pues ha sido una persona que me ha servido de ejemplo para seguir adelante a pesar de las adversidades. Recientemente perdió a su esposo de muchos años de estar a su lado, ella a pesar de estar en una silla de ruedas lo atendía con mucha abnegación y amor. 

>On Sunday I had a special activity at home, and we wanted to share that family moment with our dear Rosa, I have already told you about her in other posts, because she has been a person who has served me as an example to go ahead in spite of adversity. Recently she lost her husband of many years of being by her side, she in spite of being in a wheelchair took care of him with a lot of selflessness and love.

Finalmente él se durmió en la muerte, y como todos sabemos no es fácil el proceso del duelo, mucho menos en sus condiciones. Es por esto que como familia quisimos regalarle un día diferente, era la primera vez que nos visitaba en casa, y fue para nosotros un verdadero placer. Después de disfrutar de un banquete espiritual, nos sentamos a disfrutar de un rico pabellón, acompañado de un jugo de limón con papelón y una pequeña ración de torta de chocolate. Fueron hermosas sus palabras de agradecimiento por la comida, la cual calificó como muy rica, nos felicitó a mi esposo y a mí por el buen trabajo que hicimos. Eso me pareció muy tierno de su parte.

>Finally he fell asleep in death, and as we all know it is not an easy grieving process, much less in her condition. That is why as a family we wanted to give him a different kind of day, it was the first time he visited us at home, and it was a real pleasure for us. After enjoying a spiritual banquet, we sat down to enjoy a delicious pavilion, accompanied by a lemon juice with paprika and a small portion of chocolate cake. Her words of thanks for the food were beautiful, which she described as very tasty, and she congratulated my husband and me for the good job we did. I thought that was very sweet of her.

También nos acompañó su hijo, quien ha sido su compañero de lucha por todos estos años, ahora más que nunca esperamos que él siga cuidando de ella. Rosa es una mujer que la vida le ha arrancado muchas lágrimas, pero aún así ella se mantiene optimista, llena de esperanza y con la total confianza de que Dios cumplirá todas las promesas en las que ella espera. Siempre se toma el tiempo para enviarme notas de voz interesándose en mi salud y en la de mis seres queridos, me da palabras de ánimo y me hace ver que mientras tengamos como ayudante a nuestro padre celestial, todo estará bien. 

>We were also accompanied by her son, who has been her companion in her struggle for all these years, now more than ever we hope he will continue to take care of her. Rosa is a woman that life has brought many tears to her eyes, but even so she remains optimistic, full of hope and with total confidence that God will fulfill all the promises in which she hopes. She always takes the time to send me voice notes taking an interest in my health and that of my loved ones, gives me words of encouragement and makes me see that as long as we have our heavenly father as our helper, all will be well.

Ella realmente se sintió en casa, pues aquí siempre tratamos de dar de lo poco que tenemos pero de la mejor gana, dedicamos el tiempo y llenamos de cariño sincero a nuestros invitados. Ese día casualmente mientras se servía el almuerzo mi esposo y yo, él me comentaba que una de las cosas que nos caracterizaba como familia, es la de ser buenos anfitriones, y realmente estoy de acuerdo con él, pues siempre nos enfocamos en que las personas se sientan bien atendidas y en casa.

>She really felt at home, because here we always try to give what little we have but in the best way, we dedicate time and fill our guests with sincere affection. That day, while lunch was being served, my husband and I casually commented that one of the things that characterized us as a family is to be good hosts, and I really agree with him, because we always focus on making people feel well taken care of and at home.

Con Rosita y su hijo los objetivos se cumplieron, aunque Nóbah nuestra mascota le estaba ladrando a Remy ya que no era conocido para ella. En el caso de su madre, fue amor a primera vista, Rosa acariciaba a Nóbah como si se conocieran de toda la vida. Ya terminada la visita la llevamos a su casa, en el camino no paraba de expresar lo feliz que se sintió de haber podido compartir con nosotros ese día. Eso me hizo meditar un poco en que a veces dejamos de regalarle una sonrisa a nuestros mayores por estar tan ocupados, por buscar excusas o porque simplemente no le damos importancia. 

>With Rosita and her son the objectives were met, although Nóbah our pet was barking at Remy since he was not known to her. In the case of his mother, it was love at first sight, Rosa caressed Nóbah as if they had known each other all their lives. Once the visit was over we took her home, on the way she kept expressing how happy she was to have been able to share that day with us. That made me think a little bit about how sometimes we fail to give a smile to our elders because we are so busy, because we are looking for excuses or because we simply don't give importance to them.

Es por esto que he tomado aún más interés en seguir regalando momentos como estos, donde damos felicidad y también la recibimos. Es muy fácil sentarnos a compadecernos del sufrimiento de nuestros mayores, pero debe ser más importante cambiar su tiempo de soledad por grata compañía, secar sus lágrimas y hacerlos sonreír, demostrándole con nuestras obras que aún existen personas que nos interesamos por ellos y queremos ayudarlos. Seamos una luz en su vida y sembremos en sus corazones momentos únicos que los hagan sentir integrados y queridos. 

>That's why I've become even more interested in continuing to give moments like these, where we give happiness and also receive it. It is very easy to feel sorry for the suffering of our elders, but it should be more important to change their time of loneliness for pleasant company, to dry their tears and make them smile, showing them with our deeds that there are still people who care about them and want to help them. Let us be a light in their lives and sow in their hearts unique moments that make them feel integrated and loved. 

Esta experiencia fue muy enriquecedora para mí, por eso quise compartirla con ustedes y al mismo tiempo invitarlos a que den un vistazo a su alrededor y escojan de vez en cuando a una de estas personas que tienen como corona sus canas, para que les ofrezcan compañía y tengan detalles con ellos y al igual que yo y mi familia puedan vivir lo bonito que es honrar a nuestros mayores.

>This experience was very enriching for me, so I wanted to share it with you and at the same time invite you to take a look around you and choose from time to time one of these people who have as a crown their gray hair, to offer them company and have details with them and like me and my family can live how beautiful it is to honor our elders.</div>
