  Bitcoin's mining and transaction activities are now gaining popularity. With so many people interested in the crypto currency, researchers predict that Bitcoin activity by the end of 2018 can suck up to half a percent of the total electricity in the world. Alex de Vries economist who runs the Digiconomist blog exposes the Bitcoin Energy Consumption Index in the journal Joule on May 16. On the exposure he revealed how much energy is needed for all activities involving Bitcoin. The greatest demand for electricity comes from mining activities of Bitcoin. The more complicated the algorithm that is solved to get Bitcoin, the greater the power required by the miner's computer device.
