### Okay, here me out-

I am PRO simulation because I believe we try to replicate in this reality what is *given* to us outside of here. And I think we advance, almost subconsciously, in the direction of that reality. Almost like it happened first and we are witnessing its inception.

**Actions:**
- *Most* people prefer video games, reality TV, social media - basically AVATAR based things over *actual* reality

**Knowledge:**
- No matter how far out science looks in space or how deep it looks within we always find something. Like a shroud of knowledge is present to keep the continuity of this life ongoing.
- There has been, in recent times, a sudden uprising in people that honestly believe the earth is flat, concave, or at least not a ball. And completely convinced moon landings, rockets, and outer space travel to be one of the best kept secrets in human history.

**Desires:**
- The term "awakened" has been rejuvenated to describe someone no longer held back by media, programming, gmo foods, homeschooling, anti-vaccination, and Marxism for that matter.

**Feelings:**
- Just look into the mirror with a deep gaze and ask yourself - who is the one that is aware that they're aware? Not how you brush your teeth or comb your hair, but really look into your eyes and you'll witness the thinker who is telling your story.

I could go on but this bleeds into a book/set of blog posts I am working on that goes into the Unwritten Bible of Life, the only thing every living breathing experiences together.


One of the primary reasons for my belief though is something I've never heard everyone talk about or describe in detail the way I see it. 
But in the dark or in certain amounts of light, I can see particles. Particles of light that I can only explain from a 3D modeling perspective that they are like artifacts that exist in this reality. I can see them whenever I want with a certain type of gaze. ESPECIALLY in the dark. They flow and have their own motion - yet can be controlled and changed colors. I know that sounds odd and ruined my whole wall of text. But it's my truth, at least for me.

Holographic universe theory has indeed been around for a long time, and there are different definitions of what exactly constitutes a simulation or reality, so to speak. Ancient texts specifically mentioned the seemingly ethereal nature of the world we live in, with many references to "other dimensions" as being accessible through meditation and and even the use of psychedelics.

All of these are personal experiences being shared through language, a flawed means of communication. Hence the grave misunderstandings that we see everyday associated with the word "god" or "religion." 

I believe we can observe patterns repeating through the different magnitudes of scale that we can observe reality through.
For example, we see the same spirals that form certain galaxies, in relatively tiny objects such as seashells. There is interconnectedness all around us. 

With that being said, the matrix allegory i think specifically refers to the idea that reality is not at all what it seems and that many people are in a "slumber" of sorts. 

For those who have woken up, they would describe their former existence similar to being "in another dimension". All very subjective terms. But when you can juxtapose many different states of consciousness, and analyse them relative to each other like this:

Sobriety  -  dreaming   -    intoxication  -   hallucinations (from sickness or from drugs)  -   meditation   -    the "zone" or "it"

There are even more to add, but the point i'm trying to make is that even during everyday life, we transition through different phases of consciousness. This in turn means that our definition of reality is constantly in flux. If you then apply the logic that if we are in control of our consciousness, we can essentially do anything we put our minds to, this becomes similar to the idea of being in a video game.  

The path to truth is not a straight line. It is a spiral where you return to previous points with a deeper understanding of truth.

Getting better, surely getting better.

I think the best argument for why we are not in a simulation is this: Given that civilization has advanced to the point where we can create a simulated environment so perfect that it would fool us into believing it is reality.

What kind of twisted mind would choose to relive this time period? What, was the Great Depression already checked out at the SIM library? Dark Ages not returned yet because _"Ya just can't get enough of the Bubonic Plague"_?

Also, if you're a programmer, quantum theory should make perfect sense to you. Even the effect that is known as Schrödinger's Cat should be very obvious to you and no mystery. How? Reality seems to behave *exactly* like a game engine.

In quantum theory it's often jokingly explained that the Copenhagen Interpretation would mean that the moon would disappear when no one is looking at it. Well, that's exactly how a game engine works. The world is only rendered where there is an observer.

Similarly, the cat in the box isn't rendered until it's opened. The calculations if the cat is dead or alive are not executed until triggered by the act of observation. This is called *Lazy Evaluation* in programming, especially *Functional Programming*.

Also the phenomenon of *Quantum Entanglement*, where particles seem to communicate *instantly*, i.e. bypassing the speed of light, is easily explained. The entangled particles are actually properties of the same object in the machine's memory, and are merely rendered to different spots out into the game world.

I've often thought about this.  At one time I did think we live in a simulation.  Although, I slightly changed my perspective on the subject.  Most of you may laugh or even make fun of me, but I've come to believe the Earth is flat and we live under a dome.   The dome is the Firmament that God created that separates Heaven from Earth.  We have been deceived by NASA, Hollywood, and other government organizations.

I love these discussions. :) It's interesting to me how much of a connection there is between the morality of A.I., universal basic income because of automation, and potential deeper truths concerning the nature of our reality (simulation hypothesis, holographic universe, etc). I just finished reading Nick Bostrom's Superintelligence book and highly recommend it.

If we are living in a simulation, let's live lives interesting enough to keep the simulation running, shall we?

One assumption that the simulation argument always makes is that there is a real world (or that there was), yet I personally consider it far more likely that we are in a simulation which does not actually reflect the "real world" completely. I think that it is far more likely that we are either a simplification of the real world, or the real world has a completely different set of natural laws, and we are either some sort of entertainment or artwork.

This was well covered in Rick and Morty. As more research gets done, it's amusing to see that the universe has the appearance of a program. Maybe this is the classroom

I'm inlined to think that the odds are pretty good we're in a simulation, but I'm also inclined to think for reasons like [the ones philosopher David Chalmers gives](http://consc.net/papers/matrix.html), it doesn't matter that much. If physicists announced a consensus tomorrow that there's strings at the bottom instead of bosons and fermions, I'd be like, "huh, cool, so that's what we're made of." And Chalmers suggests we should have the same reaction if it's bits at the bottom - "huh, cool, so that's what we're made of."

Though contrary to that, I just remembered [some intriguing advice](http://www.transhumanist.com/volume7/simulation.html) from wacky but smart Robin Hanson about how to live if we *are* in a simulation.

I really like Bostrom's simultaion theory. I read and watched a lot of videos in this subject . 

One is really interesting: **when is the simulation over?**
I assume the simulation needs a lot of energy, it cannot run forever.
If we are able to create and run ancestor simulations, it will cost  a lot more power for the system, and they need to shut it down. It is possible we are not the first simulation, so the people who simulate us are also a simulation.

Another one could be if we found out we are living in a simulation, because we will act differently.

Also the simulation theory could answer to the fermi paradox, maybe we are alone, because the simulation is focused on the evolution on earth and they will run a more complex simulation later.

I watched the Musk video when it came out and was naturally sent into a ball of confusion, like everyone else. In trying to grasp this idea, I think of the way our world functions today. Everything in it and all the man-made systems are designed by a handful of people, not the majority of people. The way a subdivision is created is made by a few developers. I believe that scarcity is designed into our reality on purpose: to keep humans enslaved so that they are forced to transfer their energy and wealth to the gatekeepers.
Let's look at a subdivision. Food forests are not designed into the areas surrounding the homes. They are instead designed without any thought to nature, except superficial grass and "nice" shrubs. If those grasses and shrubs were instead filled with blackberry bushes, and walnut trees, you'd have an abundance-filled area. This is just one example. Another example is how we have been conditioned to think about what we deserve.

We all buy into the cult of personality regarding Musk. We discount the fact that he makes insane demands on others and frequently abuses people close to him. His personal assistant of many years, who was loyal to him was cast off in one of Musk's absurd tirades. These shortcomings of a man who has achieved cult status are routinely ignored. 

I would say that Musk's assessment is correct in that we are in a simulation, but I would assert that we are in a simulation of a few narrow minds of a past time. Many of the great leaders of the freedom movements were killed off before their missions could be accomplished. We're in a simulation of past murdered saints whose mission could not be fulfilled. 

I think Musk could be correct in his assessment regarding the future. There are already two kinds of people on earth: the debt slaves and the owners. If this is ever to get balanced out, people are going to need to undergo massive mind deprogramming to make them aware that they do not exist in a world of their own choosing, but instead, they are merely cogs in a wheel of a past paradigm, one that was not created to enhance their human qualities. 

Most people have been reduced to thinking of themselves in terms of productivity and machine-like functions.  "Get a job" "Don't be lazy" "Be productive". Well, humans were not built to be productive for a set 8 hours at a time, every day, like a machine. That's for machines. The human mind works more like a bubbling pot of ideas, impulses, thoughts and actions. It gets energy from sharing ideas, so working in isolation in a cubicle is not ideal for the growth of a mind. Sure, some like to work alone, but most don't. 

The idea of a corporation with a hierarchy and a limited set of actions one can do throughout a day is a simulation of a bad idea. It also goes against nature and natural laws of free movement and energy transmission. Energy within a human is just as valid as energy within an object. Movement is constant and necessary, it's just normal.
