You will continue to pay for it even if you don't use it?

They do have the best collection of shows and movies to watch. They even launched a number of shows and movies exclusive to them which I think are far above production value of main stream movies lately. Netflix still for me for the occasional night time watch of enjoyment. It still beats paying for cable. 

I love Netflix myself. The one thing I really like about the platform is that it comes on quickly. Amazon and Apple, Disney all take an age to load up. 

Great analysis, and I like your take that as innovators, Netflix deserves some respect and your continued business. I feel much the same way, and as much as I might complain about their raising prices and cancellation of good TV series such as Archive 81, I can’t see myself cancelling my subscription. Netflix is too ingrained in my life.

Netflix and chill

When I think of streaming services I think of Netflix, and then all the other ones are only behind.. yea, I would consider owning some NTFLX, but not at all if compared to HIVE or HBD.

Netflix stock will definitely go up, there is no doubt about that.

I think this is what netflix should change, I mean why not go with the traditional TV. People know they are watching a series, and they can wait a week instead of waiting months. My friend downloaded Peaky blinders 6 from other sites because he couldn't wait to watch the show. Season 6 is already over but still, it has not been delivered to netflix. This is something they should take seriously. 

I admire Netflix for its pioneering work. That company did for streaming what HBO had done for cable television. 

All that aside, Netflix recently gives impression that its leadership haven't adapted well to present economic circumstances. I think that the major mistake was going too far with original content and simply creating too much shows. Some of them were difficult to properly follow, some of them were plainly bad and some lacked Netflix's confidence, resulting in cancellation of many shows that would have survived on different networks/services. With competition heating up and other streaming services taking streaming rights for most popular or attractive content (Marvel films and Star Wars on Disney +; Harry Potter and DC Extended Universe on HBO Max), things don't look good for Netflix.

The business of streaming has certainly become far more saturated, but I am looking at it from a capitalistic perspective, and it is likely that only one or two companies will survive this increased competition. These will be the ones with the best business models, and if you believe Netflix has this, then all the reason to double down on it. Best of luck with this suddenly contrarian view!

I have to disagree. While they have been the first in the space and started the trend, I think it is lagging behind the other platforms. HBO Max and all these other services are now competing for people's money and people are tight on funds. So I don't think Netflix is doing enough to attract users and other platforms like HBO MAX have not seen a drop in users like Netflix.

Whoa, thats a big drop in the stock price! 

When I first got Netflix there were a lot of things that I didn't like about it, but now that I've tried a few other streaming sites, I think it is by far the best. Prime is pretty annoying in that they don't have trailers for a lot of their content and because they show you hundreds of films on your home page but then most of them are actually behind pay walls. I get why (because those films are owned by other companies) but I still hate the idea of having to pay more fees on top of a service you are already paying for. Similarly, when Disney + charges you $30 to watch one of their new movies. I think thats ridiculous. 

Netflix has to reduce prices, make interesting and useful topics in high quality, and change the presence of long and boring ads, if it wants a renewed turnout and satisfied subscribers on the platform.

Netflix has also earned my respect, what they have brought to the industry is just too breathtaking. They've also been involved in making some if the best movies and shows out there and that's a lot to duff my hat for. Even if their stock prices go turpsy turvy, it is a sure thing that they'll keep making profits from all their various activities so there's nothing wrong anywhere.

@geekgirl Did you see the news that Netflix is begining to consider bringing in ads too? Their CEO Reed Hastings said it makes a lot of sense to allow consumers who are advertising tolerant and who want to pay a lower price to be able to opt for it.

Netflix is such a big company. I remember when they send you DVD. But I didn't know they become a mammoth company. They have the knowledge and expetise to put it right. Swapping some features for others, massive price reductions. Stock prices will rise again !

Great job✅ Netflix is really a very good company providing the services all over the world. I have been using it since 2020. It's been a wonderful experience.

I use Netflix and I have enjoyed the services so far. But if what I am hearing is true about ads, they might have just lost another subscriber.

I decided to use some dedicated browsers to help me remove ads whenever I am watching videos on YouTube. But I do not like to compare YouTube and Netflix, I think their concepts are markedly different even though they are streaming platforms. 

I have one issue with Netflix though, I saw all 7 seasons of Blacklist on Netflix, and then I found out that the series extends till season 9. Where are seasons 8 and 9? 

I'm curious as to what is going to happen in the streaming space. I think that in terms of catalogue, Netflix is going to face fierce competition as the competition is stepping up with good productions (I'm talking mainly about HBO and Prime here). Netflix has the advantage of having the best UX so far but I believe that can change very soon.

This is an interesting idea. I don't even have time to watch a lot of TV which makes it hard for me to justify spending money on multiple streaming services. Having this kind of flexibility could be interesting for someone in my shoes.

Netflix is really super cool ! However, the Netflix plans keep on getting more expensive. Some price conscious people are canceling it, which has become a big problem for Netflix and played a role in its current stock-price crisis.

If I pay for something, I should use it as I want. Sharing password or not is my responasible, not Netflix's. I also have Netflix on my smart TV, however I noticed that some series come to other platforms before Netflix. Morever, I could not find the movie you suggested on Netflix, Snowpiercer. 

We used to prefer Netflix because it was free from annoying ads and now it's trying to include it to make money from customers، there's no free trial, I don't know how we can participate without testing free trial. Iam satisfied with Amazon Prime

Netflix seems to be the only service that streams at least 1080p on Linux. Other services' stream quality is so low you rather torrent a rip than stream it even if you had a subscription.
