2018 Review & 2019 Crypto Resolutions

Well, it's been a wild ride in 2018, that's for sure.
Bitcoin reached a high of near $20k and other cryptos such as ETH went crazy moon bound. We saw forks galore, Shitcoin's become legitimate contenders and Billions pumped into ICO's, which in essence, created an entirely new world market for seed investing.
The beginning of 2018 had crypto featured on mainstream news, and the excitement surrounding any and all crypto projects was the definition of FOMO. It was crazy to watch investments go 10-100x, and the money was flowing!
Sure, the money rivers dried up and the end of the year brought about some serious depressed markets... but over-all
## 2018 was an epic year

In my case, 2018 was something else all together. It was an immense learning experience to say the least... I wish I would have did some things different, but I have to appreciate what I have.
In all honesty, from March-June last year I was convinced on a few delusions
- I would be a multi-millionaire by 2019
- I would retire and never work again
- My crypto scheme would send me all over the world pursuing journalism

Well, now I can successfully conclude that these were delusions. But, at the time, it was so damn convincing!
And fun. I think anyone involved in cryptos during the first half of the year would agree that it was fun making a ton of money. It was like money grew on trees. I used to say "hold on, let me go out back where the money pit is and I'll just dig some up"
At the same time, making big investments and getting burned didn't hurt soo much. Cause another investment would go 5X and it didn't matter.
I put $4k into the stock market and bought some shit stock that lost $1,500. Ah, fuck it - Eth just broke $1,000 a coin!
And when you have so many Eth accounts that Eth just literally appears when beckoned, shit doesn't matter.
It's like buying 2k steem for the equivalent of $7,000 didn't really matter. Dafuq else are you going to do with bitcoin?

Anyways, you get the point. It's downright embarrassing how much money has **VAPORIZED**, literally disappeared, or was squandered away like tearing out pages from a notebook during those golden times.
Hopefully a rebound is in store for bitcoin so we can go back to the delusions, but who knows...

The one thing to take away from that experience is - **"During the good times, save for the bad times"**

And I did that to some extent. I am much better off this year than last year, and I look forward to 2019 being a great year leading to new experiences.
My 2018 goals were to have 10,000 steempower and a 1oz gold coin.

The gold was no problem. I have well over 1oz of gold still; gold dice, coins, 1grams... Unfortunately, I wasn't able to start buying steempower until after it pumped hard over $3, and by the time it hit the current prices I'm kind-of stuck with my other investments and crypto is tough to come by. It makes more sense to HODL my other coins at the moment.

### 2019 New Year Resolutions

- I'd still like to make that 10k steempower a reality this year. I have some faith in Steem and I like the use cases of Steem. It's an investment you use instead of just stare at hoping for the best.
- Another goal is that I would like to get a job within the cryptocurrency business. I somewhat have my own "Business" but I would like to either start an actual business or to join up with a project. I really started looking into this about a month ago and now that I have a 4year degree I think I could find something to get my foot in the door.

Other than that, I plan on hording my current shitcoins and hope for the best when it comes to investments this year. I don't really expect much price movement this year, I am anticipating a boring cryptocurrency realm for awhile. It seems the markets are resetting, so I actually am more looking forward to the 2020 new year!

### What are your goals for the 2019 year?

One of my easier goals for myself in 2019 is just to read more books. I only read one in all of 2018. Everything else was blogs and articles. That and spend less time on Steemit!

2019 just seems like another grinding year to try and set up things for the future.

Yup, pretty much just a grind is what I'm sensing.
Atleast I don't think I can get more disappointed if things get worse.
