Slip into the votes, not depression!

It is my 6th day on steemit, 10:36pm here in Nigeria and I feel compelled to share this thought before finally calling it a day. Yes, if this post is to be included, it is going to be my fourth post of the day. Someone has actually advised me to slow down on the number of posts but I am not sure that will work for me. I mostly get random ideas, flash thoughts and occasionally memory flashes that drive me to just pick up the keyboard and write.

Right to the topic of the night, I think we newbies and most likely the newer ones that will join this platform are/will try too much to impress and this may end up being counter productive. By my standards, I have worked hard in the last few days to upgrade my posts to a level that I think should fetch me attentions and deserved upvotes. Ironically, the posts that I spend hours researching and writing hardly get any vote, whereas posts that I randomly free-styled and nonchalantly wrote have attracted decent votes. I have changed and rechanged tags just to get the attention required but all to no avail.

What am I driving at? It is truism that one really needs a bit of luck and probably connections to top steemians (whales) to get anything out of well researched and thoughtfully written posts. To get carried away by money spinning posts might make you to extend more energy, time and resources into trying to get posts that will at least belong within the same standard hoping to get the same rewards. It mostly did not turn out well for me, at least I can talk for myself and few newbies like mine on here. 

Do not get me wrong, good contents might still spin the dough, but one mostly need more than the contents. Like break into a circle, among the whales. Once you belong, just a sneeze  can get you few tenners. So, here are my recommendations for us to survive and stay in the game
