@ghostcode you do make valid points in your argument and I do think something should be done. Rather than split the award between the two of you, I've decided to reward each of you equally for this first contest. Thanks for your entry in the first contest, I appreciate that you took the time to pour yourself into that piece. I'd like to encourage you to compete in the most recent weekly contest as well. Starting a contest will always have bumps in the beginning, and I think you've got a ton of creative talent and story ideas which could help grow this contest and attract more to compete. In the end, the goal of this project is to get more flash fiction into the Steemit marketplace and build a thriving community for fiction.

@ghostcode I'm not going to take a writers passionate disagreement personally. Each of you have a vested interest in your own work succeeding. However what I will stress is moving forward do not denegrate the works of others in an attempt to lift your own. One of the biggest challenges upcoming is how the writing challenge will accommodate writers whose primary language is not English. I think their ideas should absolutely be considered and the challenge upcoming is how to circle that square.
