Heya hivers! This is Gia writing to you, keeping  you updated on the latest happenings of my life. Today's blog is somehow really special to me because I will be talking about my younger days, specifically on my perspective as a child. Once again, thank you so much to those who keep on supporting my blogs. Needless to say, I appreciate every single one of you. ## FLASHBACK TO GIA'S CHILDHOOD  ₊˚🩰 𓂃˖ 𝜗𝜚 ໒ྀི✧
I grew up in a normal household and a very captivating environment. I had always been an adventurous, benevolent, and empathetic child. My parents told me the moment I was born, they thought that I wasn't their child because I looked really different compared to them. While they looked like full-blooded Filipinos: brown complexion, fairly narrow eyes, high cheekbones and etc, I had a fair complexion, more westernized features, particularly Spanish-like features which they thought I had acquired from my grandmother who was half Spanish. Although these things are quite accurate, some features did not really last long like my fair complexion which eventually turned into a brown-ish one because I loved to go outside despite the scorching sun.

Younger Gia was always outgoing, bubbly, and extroverted. She loved to constantly make new friends and go on trips far from her hometown. From the very start, she had always been a compassionate person and knew how to empathize with others, being considerate with how they feel. Thereafter, she discovered she was a sensitive person to many things and factors. She grew up in an environment where she became more independent day by day. Every time her sister would be signed up for a tutoring session or a workshop, she would play pretend and join them, even though she was only too young to understand. Her parents then saw a potential in her. Like one time when they were  at a car ride out of town with her parents friends. They asked her to count from 1-100 which initially started out as a joke. But they were surprised to find that the child already knew how to speak such lengthy numbers the age of one. Whenever her sister would go for tutoring lessons, she would come along and read all of the books displayed outside and happily stomp her little feet towards her mother. Never forgetting the time when her older sister joined the McDonalds Kiddie Crew and she went up to the counter to have a small talk with the staff. Or maybe the time when she made her first speech in kindergarten because she was the top student but she was too shy so she was just asked to sing ABC's in front of her classmates yet ended up crying because of nervousness. Yup, that's me.

I once had a circle of friends from my childhood who were my neighbors and we would play the whole day. Although a lot of them had left an impression on me, I'll never forget my original trio with Eisha and Sam, my first ever girl best friends and playmates. Every time I go back to the day when the three of us started hanging out and acting as the girly pops, I can't help but smile because I remember all the pranks and small talks I've had with them, including our daily roleplay sessions and hiding treasures like our mom's stuff in the soil. We were very naughty kids but I was mostly the responsible one since my parents are quite strict. I also remember up to this day my bonding with my sister which happens every evening. Every time the clock strikes 7:30, my mom would call us upstairs into our room. I would crawl up to the bed and sit next to my sister since we would always have a reading session before heading off to bed. I remember when I kept on stealing the ones she used to read because they were much more interesting than my books, or most probably because I was always gaya-gaya. I also could never forget our gigantic toys like the motorbikes and bicycles with two seats that we always ride on. Disney has also played a huge part in my childhood because on rainy days, I would invite my friends to come over our house and watch Disney, specifically our favorite show, Hi-5. On other days, we would go upstairs and head to our playroom and play tea, dolls, or cooking. Oh I'd never forget that.

A star student, chatty yet shy person, very bubbly and friendly, adventurous, curious, artistic, and religiously devoted to God. If anything, I would gladly go back into the past and see it all over again, and I certainly wouldn't get tired of it. I want to go back to my hometown and see my childhood friends, smell the scent that gives me pure nostalgia, see the world as a colorful and wonderful place without any worries snooping around, experience the times when I'd pretend to fall asleep inside the car so that my dad would carry me to the house, listen and sing along to that one song on the radio my grandparents loved to play, run around the halls and yell happy chants inside the house, pick santan from the bushes beside the compound and turn them into bracelets/ necklaces and crowns, play all sorts of games that involved physical coordination,  hug all of my toys from childhood, become innocent and carefree again. Life was better when I was a kid. If only it could stay like that forever. But we all grow to be something someday. We live to grow ourselves into either someone we wanted to become, or someone who we were forced to turn into, or something that our destiny has shaped for us. No matter how much we deny it, it's true. Although there is no chance for me to pursue this 'dream', it will always hold a special place in my heart, somewhere deep down where roses continue to grow. To my future self, I hope you'll always be happy no matter what happens. Even when life seems to crumble upon you, always pick yourself up, like how you always used to. Even though you were young and naive, your old self would've found a way to solve everything and wipe all of your tears away. I hope your dreams will come true, just like how the little version of yourself always wanted you to be. Even at times when you feel stressed or lost, probably with little hope left, you'll always have it in your heart. Keep looking for it and don't give up on yourself. It took you a while to get here, and it would take just a few more steps away from sweet victory.
