We make a mistake and it feels like we can kick ourselves for being so stupid. Often enough we cannot see the immediate effect our stupid decisions will have on our lives. Young people don’t see the immediate value in their education and they drop out of school just to be faced with reality the day that they finally decide to do something with their lives. </p> <p>Remember it is NEVER too late to turn your life around, and even if you have made bad decisions in your life, <strong>you can still succeed in life.</strong> </p> <p>If you take responsibility for your actions the case is halfway won. If you understand the fact that you have made the bad decision and you own up to it, then you have learned a valuable life lesson. </p> <p>You are the one in control of your life, and it is important not to blame others for your poor decisions. Be honest with yourself, but also be fair to yourself and others. <em>We cannot turn back time. </em>If you have made a poor decision it is quite important to come to terms with it. Let go of the past and look to the future. <em>It’s no use crying over spilt milk.</em> Just because you made one bad decision doesn’t mean that all your other decision will also turn out like that. </p> <p>If you accept personal responsibility you will respect yourself more because you now have to live with the consequences of your actions. Every action has a consequence. You just have to live with it. </p> <p>If you commit a crime, you pay the time. Whatever decision you make has a result, whether it is good or bad but you cannot change the outcome. </p> <ul> <li>Nobody on this earth is without mistakes and it is important to understand that you are not the only person going through this. Millions of people have made mistakes before you but life goes on and even though you may wish you have made a different choice we can’t change what happened. When you stand in front of a decision and you don’t know what to do, you might want to ask some guidance from someone with more experience in the field. </li> <li>Don’t make a rash decision on the spur of the moment. </li> <li>Make a list of positive and negatives and base your decision there upon. </li> <li>Think before you take action. </li> <li>Don’t say something you’re going to regret later on. Put a sock in your mouth because words cannot be taken back. </li> <li>Act responsible and take responsibility for the outcome of your decisions. If you did your research you can just hope that your decision will have the desired result. </li> <li>Always try your best. Don’t make hasty decision because you are lazy. </li> <li>Apologize when you make a mistake that hurt others, in other words, clean up your own mess. You made the mistake so pick up the pieces. </li> <li>Don’t blame others for your mistakes, acknowledge what happened, see the positive and step away. Focus on not doing the same thing again. </li> </ul> <h2>What happens if we don’t act responsibly?</h2> <p><br></p> <p>Failing to take responsibility for your actions can have a long term effect on your personal relationships as well as your emotions. When you blame others you give up your power to change. </p> <p>Guilt always slips into the equation and it can eat you up little by little. Not taking responsibility will eventually guarantee that you belittle yourself and you will feel worthless. </p> <p>The choices we make in life is ultimately our own responsibility. We shape our own lives and we determine how our lives will turn out. Be someone that others can look up to and can trust. </p> <p>Be there for others when you can see that they are making a big mistake. Guide them by giving advice but don’t force it.
