Poor Ganesh. As they say,  that really gets my goat..  .har har. I'm not much on symbolism anyway.  A statue is a statue, but I did comment to a friend of mine a few years back that Corpus Christi was heading straight going to hell for planting a statue of Shiva down on the seawall.  There is a certain irony to it though from a given perspective.  Corpus Christi is kind of a dead end rode that leads to destruction where many have lost their way and never come back.  Worse still is the trap, the lure,  that once you get here you can't get out or keep coming back if you do manage to escape.  Auspicious somehow, so I guess having Shiva welcoming you to the body of Christ is what is is.
