Hello to all Silver and Gold Stackers!!!

Today I found myself in a square where there was a flea market, the ones with many stalls that surround the perimeter of the outdoor space: each stall is usually specialized in a niche of antiques, there are those who sell old furniture, clothes, toys, jewelry, work tools, and, of course, coin and stamp sellers cannot be missing.

Many people go to these markets just to see, and maybe touch, objects from the past with historical and nostalgic value, while others go armed with cash, thinking of finding great deals or uncovering a hidden treasure.

Some sellers offer really good prices, but others take advantage of the sense of antiquity and rarity, perhaps exaggerated, that is given to the item for sale, or they play directly on the supposed ignorance of the customer.

For many categories of objects, it is very difficult to have a precise notion of how much the item in question is valued: this is certainly not true for stamps and coins, where there is a precise classification with expert evaluation, unless one finds an exceptional rarity not yet known to the general public.

In the end, looking costs nothing....

I found some interesting coins, some made of silver, but I have to say that the prices asked were very high: for example, you can see here a Miguel de Cervantes from 1994, a Spanish coin dedicated to the famous author of Don Quixote, weighing 33.62 grams with a silver fineness of 925, nominal value of 5 ECU.

As you can see from the photo, the asking price was 50 euros: really too much!!! Online, it can be found for just over 30 euros.

Other silver coins, also weighing about an ounce, were also priced at 70-90 euros, probably for their collectible value, but certainly not for the value of the metal, as an ounce of silver today is quoted around 21 euros.

Ciao a tutti Silver and Gold Stackers !!!

Oggi mi sono ritrovato in una piazza dove c'era un mercatino dell'usato, quelli con tante bancarelle che circondano il perimetro dello spazio all'aperto: ogni bancarella, di solito, è specializzata in una nicchia dell'antiquariato, c'è chi vende vecchi mobili, vestiti, giocattoli, gioielli, strumenti da lavoro, e , ovviamente, non possono mancare i venditori di monete e francobolli.

Molti vanno a questi mercatini solo per vedere, e magari toccare, oggetti del passato e con un valore storico e di ricordo, altri vanno armati di contanti , pensando di trovare grandi offerte o scovare un tesoro nascosto.

Alcuni venditori offrono veramente dei prezzi buoni, ma altri si approfittano del senso di antichità e rarità , magari esagerato, che si da all'oggetto in vendita, oppure giocano direttamente sulla presunta ignoranza del cliente.
 
Per molte categorie di oggetti, è molto difficile avere una nozione precisa di quanto è stimato l'articolo in questione: questo non vale di certo per francobolli e monete, dove esiste un classificazione per precisa con quotazioni di esperti, a meno di trovare una rarità eccezionale non ancora venuta fuori a conoscenza del grande pubblico.

Alla fine guardare non costa nulla....

Ho trovato alcune monete interessanti, alcune di argento, ma devo dire che i prezzi richiesti erano molto alti: potete vedere qui, per esempio, un Miguel de Cervantes del 1994, moneta spagnola dedicata al famoso autore di Don Chisciotte della Mancia, dal peso di 33,62 grammi con un titolo in argento di 925, valore nominale di 5 ECU.

Vedete dalla foto che il prezzo richiesto era di 50 euro: veramente troppo!!!
On-line si trova anche a poco più di 30 euro.

Altre monete d'argento, sempre da circa un oncia, costavano anche 70-90 euro, probabilmente per un valore di collezionismo, ma non certo per il valore del metallo, un oncia di argento oggi è quotata intorno ai 21 euro.
