Random post with no clear subject or topic

I have been on steemit for almost two months now and I am still learning something new each and every day.  This post is more of a personal test case than a real post with valuable content.   I have seen some great posts that had rich content and beautiful pictures. These posts were the kind of posts that had hours of research, great formatting and perfect grammar.  One thing really jumed out at me and that is they only had a very few upvotes, no resteems and made about 0.07. 

On the other hand I have seen some really terrible posts that were thrown together and they got tons of upvotes and made hundreds of dollars.  It is truly a mystery.   I haven't figured out the secret code as to how to make a successful post yet but I know one day I will.  

Steemit is a great opportunity and Im glad I found it when I did.  The photo that I am adding to this post is of one of my dear friends.  He knows the secret to truly great hair so I thought it might give me an advantage.  Half of the  fun is in the journey.

It all looks good on paper and then there is the real life application. Thanks for sharing your tips for success. I will try and apply them in the near future. The 10 engagements per day is a good goal for sure.

You are not alone in your thoughts. I thought it was about how long a person has been on steemit but then I saw an introduction post earn over $300. Others too have been here for close to two years and still earn as little as $2 on their posts. There must be something someone isn't telling us..

I completely agree with your post and the other comments here. I want to add that, at root, Steemit is about the democratic production of content. Anything democratic is always going to be a two-edged blade - people want quality content and real information, but they want to be entertained and don't want anything complicated. Add on to that the whole bot phenomenon and we end up with our current predicament..

The bot phenomenon is way above my understanding. I have no idea how that stuff works.  I do think that Steemit is still the best platform around  but there is room for improvement.

I don't understand all the intricacies, but hate the idea that you can get votes by paying for it (that's basically how most of them work). It's just another case of the rich get richer..there are some other kinds of voting bots that you don't have to pay for. These are better because they can involve manual curation of posts, like steemfollower. Some say that bots are necessary for the Steemit ecosystem, I agree within the limit that it's not all automated. But there is definitely room for improvement as you say!
