### Hot sun, high tides, and cool breeze.

I found myself in a beachfront bar in Panagsama, Moalboal. I didn't know it yet. How could I? But in the next few months, that place was going to be wiped out by a Super Typhoon. If you go there now, there is nothing but ruins facing the ocean. If I had known of its demise, I would have enjoyed the place more. I would have turned off my laptop and stopped working. I would have ordered another shot of their Jägerbomb. I would have run back and forth multiple times to the water for a swim.

After surviving the [Introduction to Freediving class](https://peakd.com/hive-178638/@glecerioberto/i-cant-do-this-or-my-introduction-to-freediving-class), our diving instructor offered us to join "Drift Diving" the following day. I was proud and relieved that I'd finished my intro class, but I wasn't sure I was up for more diving that soon.

Drift diving is a water activity where you start at one point and freedive while drifting with the current toward the destination point. Of course, you resurface but you continue swimming, drifting, and diving toward the destination. Normally, freedivers swim against the current, but for drift diving, divers swim with the current because the final destination is quite far. I was told that the activity would last at least 3 hours.

I politely declined the offer. We had one other friend who didn't join the freediving and we decided to wait for the group in Panagsama where the drift diving would end. Panagsama was lively and full of people. There were restaurants and bars lining the beach.

My friend and I decided to go into this place that looked like a bar and restaurant. It had wooden furniture, high chairs, and colorful scarves hanging from the ceiling. I decided to order a Jägerbomb and my friend had fresh fruit juice. I've always wanted to try Jägermeister, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to have it. I didn't know that it paired well with Red Bull.

We waited for hours for our companions to arrive. I tried to squeeze in as much work as I can without being distracted by the sound of the waves and the passing tourists. I finished my drink and then our companions arrived. They crawled their way out of the water because they were so tired from the drift dive. I was glad I didn't join them.

I helped them with their gear and brought them to the bar. We ordered food for lunch and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon staring at the beach and having some more drinks.
