Things are quite hard nowadays, and our income seems to be turning into peanuts. Although the prices of items, especially food, and basic items we get daily continue rising to the top while the income remains the same.So how do we tackle this unbalance, can it be tackled or at least lessened a bit? The answer can't be definite for us all, but some things can be done. I've heard people talk about cutting their expenses, to manage their income, it will work to an extent, but the truth remains that no matter how we try to limit the expenses, it's still there and sometimes some unexpected ones still creep on us that we have no other option than to spend.

 Managing your income is a good financial habit, don't get me wrong, but today, I will like to focus on increasing your income, in times like this, we can't stay in the comfort zone of our regular income, especially when it's not holding at least half of our expenditure in a month, so what are the things that can be done to increase our income.

**1 Having a side hustle**

Your side hustle doesn't have to be something huge, just imagine something you can do that will bring at least a little constant daily interest, you would be shocked at how these other incomes can cover a lot of things at the end of the month, myself for instance, I relied on my job as a fashion designer for a while and discovered that most of my earning were being swallowed up, thankfully, I joined hive, so far so good, it has been a great decision, I make sure to balance the two and even share some of my jobs here as a plus, that I'm way, my Income has added, I manage both and make sure to have something saved at the end of the day.



**2 Upgrade yourself**

One thing that is constant in the world we live in is change, things change every day, people's taste, choice etc, we always crave for better things, my fashion business again as an example, if I don't upgrade my skills regularly, I will be left behind for better advanced designers, that way, I'm losing more money instead of actually earning more with an upgraded skill. What ever you do, always aim to upgrade your skills, be it IT, Accounting, Medical personnel etc, get more certification at least in my country, an upgraded skill equals an upgraded pay.


**3 Stay informed**

Always be informed about the happenings around you, an opportunity might be lurking around waiting to be taken, you can't remain in your comforts at all time sometimes you need to go out and source for ideas and information, opportunities won't just come to you, you look for it.

Times are hard, yes I know especially in Nigeria right now, but it is time for us not to give up, instead stand up, fight and all those financial goals we have only dreamed of can happen when we leave our comfort zone.
