Ruth 1:16
>16.And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.
Ruth was a woman like you and I, and more so she was the daughter in law to Noami, but after everything she had passed through in her marital home she never wanted leaving her mother in law just like that, she vowed to follow her and serve the God of her mother in law as seen in the passage above,oh what a declaration from a faithful daughter in law, what a true and genuine show of commitment.
Ruth had enjoy love from her mother in law Noami and so she had thought in her heart that this was just the right time to reciprocate that love by staying put with her.
It is pertinent, good or proper to recognise the love and kindness showered on us by people, so that when occasions arises or presents itself we will demonstrate or show even more greater love or kindness to them for the world to see that indeed we enjoyed one thing or the other from these persons.

I could imagine Noami being wicked is rude to Ruth nothing would have made her want to stay put, but due to Naomi's kind gestures towards Ruth she had no reason than to stay. As a mother in law how do you treat your daughter's in law. As a would be mother in law how do you intend to great your daughter in laws, will you shower them with love or you will make life a living hell for them? Pause and ponder.
Lastly I ask his committed are you to the things of God, is it just for the earthly blessings or its with heaven in view?
