In nineteen days time, I shall be leaving these shores and begin my trek to the US. The purpose of this trip is twofold: @thewritersblock, a writers community @rhondak and I started some eight months or so ago is holding its first ever get together. It is not, however, the first time I have met one of our members: on my way to Steemfest last year I had the pleasure of meeting @tinypaleokitchen in Brussels, and then @lenadr in Portugal.

The social aspect of my upcoming trip indeed plays a big part and I cannot wait to meet other Blockheads who have helped to make our community such an amazing place. Incidentally, it will also be my first time outside Europe. 

The reason why this was arranged so quickly was with a view to meeting some devs that Rhonda met at the recent Tennessee Steem meetup. We will plan out the future of The Writers' Block and look forward to realizing our dream of creating a crypto backed publishing house.

A cozy log cabin has been booked with enough room to sleep eight of us and nearby hotels have rooms reserved for other attendees. This will be happening in Gatlinburg, TN.

Due to the short notice that this event was planned, I had to take out a loan from the awesome bank of @neoxian to pay for my flights. I made my first $200 repayment last week, a day earlier than agreed. 

The brilliant @enginewitty is on day six of a 7 day Music & TV Way Back Challenges posting regime and has pledged to send me the SBD earned from those posts to help pay back my loan. Enormous thanks, dude.

I am trying my best to post more often than usual, while also mindful to not shitpost too much. It would help if Steem and SBD had a bit of a pump to help make the repayments easier, but if it wasn't for Steem and Steemit, none of this would have been possible in the first place, and for that I am extremely grateful.

@rhondak put out a call for donations last week to help pay towards the loan she took out to cover the log cabin rental. Thanks to the huge generosity of not just TWB members, but Steemians across other communities, she made her repayment also.

This community never ceases to amaze me. The generosity shown proves just how special this place is. Minnows with little to spare have nonetheless sent whatever they could to @thewritersblock. For that, I and @thewritersblock want to thank each and everyone who has supported our upcoming meetup and sent donations. You're all amazing.
