Steemit is an amazing platform and it is growing at a breakneck speed. And going by the prevailing sentiment here on the platform, I believe the users want it to replace the social media giant Facebook sooner or later. 

If that were to happen, I am sure the platform would have to go a major overhaul. I have been spending my time here on Steemit for 67 days and I have observed that the platform really needs some changes. 

I am listing changes that I would like see to be implemented to make the interface more user friendly.

__1 Search Option__ Make the search option quick and fast. I want to see what @juliank has posted in #photocontests or what @firepower has written about the #crypto scene in India or what @sauravrungta has to say about latest buzz in the tech world. I don't want the search option to lead me to a different page but give me real fast results in the search box instead as drop down options. 

__2 Notifications__ The other day @aburmeseabroad left a reply on my comment on her post. I didn't realize that and it took me some ages to find out that she had actually responded. There has to be a notification tab alerting the user to check his reply/comment section. I get it if someone gets fairly popular and receives plenty of upvotes and comments, s/he will be tormented by these notifcations but if FB and Twitter are sending them notifications, why not Steemit?

__3 Favorite/See First__ I follow 113 people here on Steemit. I may want to be alerted when a particular user posts something. For instance, if @devilonwheels is posting some good stories from Himalaya, I would certainly not want to miss out on any of them. WOuldn't it be wise to have that see first or favorite author possibility here on Steemit to keep a close watch on your friend's posts without reducing your following count? 

__4__ Account Word__ I believe, like Steepshot, the net account worth of a user should be displayed on the blog page. That will certainly become a huge motivation for others to join in or to continue working on this platform
